Hi

Just a FYI

If you have accidentaly downloaded the Chinese software from one of the Cds , and ended up with a phone displaying only Chinese , you have to reformat the MM card after de-installing the software - otherwise the CAB files get re-installed if you remove/reinsert the card for any reason - found out the hard way this weekend :-) .

They must be written to this card at some time .

I guess that explains why the language reverts sometimes...(not that I'm always playing with the MMC card)...

Anyway, is reformatting the MMC card and doing a master reset the only way around this?

Just wondering...I'm in no rush to wipe my phone clean again and reinstall everything....

Hi

I have avoided doing a master rest by using a combination of methods - 1 is to get the phone partly back into English as described elsewhere in the forum ie working thro the Chinese options to get to the regional setting and changing the top language to US English the second language option only resets when you have removed the offending programs - or find the remove programs option and remove all the extra programs - but you must also remember to remove them of your PC if you are synching to the PC and reformat the card otherwise they just re-install themselves !!.

Also everytime you make a setting change power the phone on and off

The first time this happened to be I was really worried for a while :-)
