SL55 vs. SL56 Battery

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I was wondering whether or not the batteries for the SL55 and SL56 were interchangable? I would assume so, but then again you never know. Also does anyone know of an extended life battery? I've love the SL56 but the battery life is not all that hot. Thanks for any info.

They are interchangeble and I haven't heard of any extended battery.

Has Siemens generally released extended batteries for past phones?

Haven't seen any myself. Just face it, with style comes compromises. Charge it every two days.

Posted by: austinchuck

If it lasted a full two days it would not be a problem...

mine finally lasts a full 2 days after breaking it in for like 2 weeks. or i must be talking a lot less but i don't think that's the case.

btw i tried some aftermarket batteries from ebay, and they did NOT work. they don't even fit the back of the phone (i'd have to force it to fit). so anyone who's thinking about getting aftermarkets for the sl55, be careful!

fortunately, the person i bought from is refunding me

My battery still does not get to the two day barrier and I have had it over two weeks.

I had got from one of the suppliers in my country. an OEM extended battery for my SL55, which can last up to 5 days with a single charge.

Heavy user = battery can last 3 1/2 days with single charge

Light user = battery can last up to 5 days with a single charge

I have some pictures for the Extended battery 750 mah.

Compared with the original 500 mah battery

Posted by: austinchuck

How much thicker is it?

Some more pics....

Wow! That doesn't look too bad at all! Where can we get those? I hate it when I can't get to my charger for a couple days and I'm totally screwed if I want to make a call.

Posted by: carsmovies

Sorry guys but that battery is not OEM. If you want to take the risk of putting a aftermarket battery into a $600 phone then so be it.

sorry for the mistake, by the way, whats does OEM means ? does OEM = 3rd party ??

Posted by: HF_ElGuapo

OEM = Original Equipment Manufacturer ie. Siemens
I guess that battery would fall under "Aftermarket"?

I had the S307 and it was just as bad if not worse cause it didn't give you much warning. Once it was at half full it went down to nothing within the same day.

Posted by: austinchuck

The battery life on my sl56 is worse than the s307. It goes from full to nothing in the same day with my average usage. It does give you some warning though...

If you're smart about it U can make ur phone battery last alot longer then a day and a half. here are some tips:
1) Don't over use ur phone, if ur at home use ur house phone.
2) Set the Illumination to 50% instead of 100% u can still see it very well and this saves ALOT of battery
3) Use the battery conserving screan saver instead of the clock or the Moon and stars, This will save ur battery when u're not using ur phone

Follow these easy steps and u'll get more out of ur battery

I use my phone quite frequently when i'm out, and i only charge my phone every 3 or 4 days Cheers and have fun with ur phones

Unfortunately, I am already following the advice for longer battery life. The simple fact is that the phone battery does not last all that long. It would be nice to see an extended life battery come out for this phone.

mAYbe your battery is screwed...get a new one

Guys, I have talked to other sl56 owners. I have switched batteries. I have done everything. THE PHONE DOES NOT HAVE GREAT BATTERY LIFE. It is not that complex an issue.
