Hands Free Kit?
I just got a cdm8600 . Can anyone explain the "Wake Up " voice command? Does this work with an earbud? or do I need some kind of special HFK hands free kit base or something? Does this work when the phone is folded? Seams like it should.
I have the feature turned on, and my voice trained. what am I missing?

The Wake Up feature only works with a hands free kit. I just purchased the CHF8300VW Portable Hands Free Kit from my local Verizon Store. The CHF8300VW is for the CDM8300 and CDM8500 phones; however, it works on my CDM8600. The kit is regulary $69.99; however, for some reason Verizon (at least at my local store) discounted the purchase price to $10.99!

To answer your other question, when using the hands free kit you can use voice commands with your phone in the folded position. All you say is "wake up" and the phone enters the voice command mode.

The CHF8300VW is a very good hands free kit with an excellent speaker.

Is there something special about the CHF8300VW? I have an old non-Audiovox HFK and Wakeup doesn't seem to work. The mic and earphone work great.

I have HFK enabled and VR on flip open. I have tried VR on SEND but that doesn't seem to help.

What do you think?
