Sony Clie PEG-TG50

I have never owned a pda and am thinking of purchasing a pda mobile. The only pda mobile I am familiar with is the handspring treo 180 and 270. I have also looked up information on the Sony Clie PEG-TG50 and I think it looks pretty neat.

With my limited knowledge of pda mobiles I do not want to make a hasty decision. Does anyone know much about this clie? Which pda mobile would you recommend? Apart from wanting as many good features as possible, ie memory, software capabilities, etc. I am very concerned about size - the smaller and lighter, the better, even if it means sacrificing a few minor software features. I'd also like it to have a colour screen. Price range? Ideally below £150 (or US equivalent) but may stretch my budget to £200. If I purchase one from the US is it likely to work in the UK?

Your suggestions and comments would be much appreciated.

I bought a TG-50 for US$220 on eBay a few months ago. It's a sweet little PDA - very compact, and it has the keyboard and MP3 playing capabilities I was looking for.

You can connect to a phone via Bluetooth, but it's not actually a cell phone.

Ah, that's useful info. Thanks. I thought it was a pda/ cellphone. When you say you can connect to a cellphone do you mean simply to transfer data such as store phone numbers, send texts, etc but you cannot actually hold the TG-50 to your ear to speak to someone? I'm not sure I picture in my mind how the TG-50 "connects to a cellphone".

Sorry, all I meant was that you could connect your TG50 to the Internet through a cell phone (wireless connection over Bluetooth).

I'm with you now. Basically like a laptop would.

With typical BT software you can also use your PDA as a dialer (to place phone calls) and send and receive SMS.

palm T|T has bluetooth, so is tg50. if you have to decide which one to get, it is your preference over thumbkeyboard or graffiti.
kb is faster and user friendlier, if you have never have a pda before or don't know how to use graffiti. once you get used to graffiti, you won't like tg50. you can get it for cheap nowadays.
