Mitac 8380 Exterior Display

I've got this annoyance with the phone and the exterior display.
This display always shows Full signal strength, no matter what the internal signal strength icon shows.
Secondly, this exterior display always shows time in 24 hour format (military time).
Anyone know how to change either of these ?

accordly to Mitac Mio offical answerfor your first question. The external display only show whether there is signal or not. It does not show signal stenght.
