I recently purchased the Siemens USB Cable & I installed the supplied driver & the SDS for the SL56. That program work to transfer Contact & Calendar info. Now this is fine but I want to transfer my collection of Ringtones & Wallpapers. I also noticed that You HAVE TO have MS OUTLOOK or LOTUS NOTES. I don't have either. It would have been nice if the box from Siemens told you that those were the only programs supported. I've downloaded the SDS for the SL55 but All I can do is see the Addressbook & the Call log. When I try to do anything else I get errors. I even tried the Mobile Icon & I get an error telling me nothing is connected. What is there that I need to do? Is it something on the phone I need to change or am I SOL.

Now I know I'll get some slack for it, but I've looked all over the web & on HoFo & I still haven't found anything.

I NEED HELP! I'm frustrated! If I can't get it to work I'll be returning the cable soon.

Because this topic has been beaten to death on this board. It sucks because a lot of board members hate seeing the same topics over and over again.

To answer your question, NO you can't do that with the data cable on the SL56 only on the SL55.

If you get the phone hacked then it is possible to transfer ring tones and stuff.

They say that Cingular made siemens block that feature on the SL56 do to copyright laws but if you ask me they only block that feature out of GREED.

They want you to only download there ring tones through there website, and pay them only. If they let you put ring tones other than through them then they will make less money.

Do a search on this site for hacking the SL56 and you will find tons of stuff on how and where to do this?
