How do you figure? If he liked Obama he wouldn't say riceburner, and instead think that rice was a good thing to do to a car?

A riceburner is any Japanese car.

Wirelessly posted (P990: Opera/9.50 (J2ME/MIDP; Opera Mini/4.1.11355/428; U; en))

How is the Prelude riced? I don't have big, heavy wheels, no big spoiler, no stickers, nothing much that's visible really.

Hell, I even took off the cf hood that I had.

Posted by: oddsocks

Nobody said your Prelude was "riced" (as in riced out). A riceburner is an Asian automobile. That's all. If you take that as an insult, that's unfortunate.

Posted by: CellphoneFreaks

IMO, riced, ricer, rice-burner or" rice-ified" (by the way, nice word Dsigma6! :lolup
is a term for bad modding in the U.S. ONLY. Anybody agree with me on this?
Overly done/outragously done Japanese imports. Like having a lambo door on a Nissan, a mercedez headlight on a Honda, a dozen speakers in a hatchback, neon here and there .
those are the sign of a "rice-burner' to me
But I personally don't consider any JDM car are "riced" because most of the cars in major Asia countries all having the similar style, which is subtle, sleek and OEM like.
So I don't think any import with a larger set of rim or lowered reasonably are "riced". They certainly look good with that
My 2 cents

Posted by: pimpin69

I want a BMW 135 or M3/M5/M6 lol

I saw a M3 convertible and I didn't care for it.

Posted by: The Mac Ace

a riceburner is a car with a chromed out folgers coffee can attached to the tailpipe that makes a lovely farting sound, cherry bombed springs, and a wing that makes it look like a shopping cart. lol

Posted by: Skylinepilot

So at this point it is pretty clear that nothing is clear when it comes to labeling things that are considered rice or riceburning.

P.S. IMO you can rice out an american/european/australian/etc. car.

Just to be clear, you do understand that posting pics of an ML55 doesn't excuse the fact that your info is clearly similar to that other poster who claimed to have the CLS and then it was proven that he didn't.

I also find it strange that you would post an H2 a couple pages back instead of a 2009 ML55 which is clearly a better car that looks to have been photographed in a different neighborhood. Then add on top of that the fact that you showed up right after the other guy was proven wrong...it seems fishy, you have to admit that much.

No one is being a "hater", it was already proved that the other guy lied and then I pointed out that you happen to be very similar to him.

My H2 is in Hawaii for obvious reason ie surfing and my needs for a vehicle to get rough out there. And in WA where i live it is just more practical to have a small SUV that meets my needs. Because another poster on here is a poser or what ever you want to call them is iggnorant anyways but i am me and am not trying to be some "poser" i just found it rude and not needed for someone on here to be making claims of me being someone else

i always thought ricing means you started adding things to the car that really doesnt do much in performances

like stickers, body kit, stickers, putting a cold air intake and thinking u have 20 hp!!, stickers, puting a fart can muffler and thinking u have 20 more hp, more stickers!!... etc..

I've got an 06 GC with the 4.7L in it. She growls when stomped. I'm fixing to put a 3-4" lift and a new exhaust in it come next spring. The STR8 with the 6.1L came in 06. They sound so amazing when romping around. I've got a buddy with an LS1 in his TJ, couple others with SBC 350, 360 and 454's in their CJ and YJ's. I'm been trying to blow up my 4.0L so I can toss in a 4.7L stroker but at almost 300k she just won't die.

That thing is a beast! You're talking about the HO right? My mom has a 2002. Back when I lived at home (and the car was new), I used to do 360's at intersections 'cause the thing would just burn!!!

I killed the transmission at 30,000.

awwww.. how come u got rid of it?...

Posted by: Skylinepilot

I was thinking about getting rid of my STi for Ridgeline, it's an awesome truck. I just drove my in-laws' to the snow for probably the 4th time and it handles really well on the dry, flawless on the snow and it's not too big of a vehicle but seats 5 very comfortably (I had to sit in the back for part of the trip too). They have the Nav package with a sunroof, it's freakin sweet.

Posted by: huskyfan23

Really? A Ridgeline? Ew! If you want an Asian pickup, get a Titan.

Why would you even consider getting of of the STi for a Ridgeline?

Kids, the STi is bone jarring

2008 BMW 328i 4 door (e90) white, 6 speed manual with premium package.

Something like this:

Great car. Bluetooth handsfree works great with blackbery bold. Not so well with the HTC P4000 (telus).

I've been debating between 328 and 335d. Wonder how much cost you total? What's your monthly? Is it a lease or buy? Their CPO got some great deals and I try to figure out the best option. Nice ride and nice alpine white color

Not fully loaded.

I got the manual 6 speed instead of the auto 6 speed. Manual is more fun for me.

I also didn't get the nav system since I have nav software on my phones. I can't stand BMW's iDrive controller.

I didn't get the sport package. The suspension is stiff enough as-is.

What I did get:

- Premium package (sunroof, power folding heated mirrors etc.)
- Comfort access (no need to take key fob out of my pocket... evar!)
- Premium audio (iPod integration, BASS under the seats, more speakers)

I was debating between the 335i and the 328i. I settled on the 335i because I don't need the extra power, GF doesn't like when I stomp on the gas anyways.

It's on a lease, $680/mnth.

I wasn't planning on getting white. it's only when I saw one in the showroom in white (a 335i) that I said: "Wow, looks awesome in white!"

As for the 335d? why? if you can afford a car in that price range, why bother for a diesel? It's a good car but honestly, Diesel at that price?

Posted by: dsigma6

$680/month for a 3 series lease? Yikes.

I also put 0% down. Downpayments on a lease is silly, don't do it.

335d will be a very fun car to drive, 400+ torqe and MPG is around 35, plus I like the new facelift look, but it's $13000 more than a 328. I'm debating either a 2009 335d around $50000 or a CPO 2006 330i for about $27000, same amount of HP but half the price. And if I purchase the ultimate protection program, the 330i will practically have the same warranty as a new car.

Lease on the sky was more than my BMW (in Canada). Think about it: a $35K (Sky redline) for $750/mnth when my $47K 328i is $680/mnth. Doesn't make sense.

The sky is uncomfortable, the roof doesn't work right, the trunk is a joke, the handling sucks, the ergonomics are terrible. The only good thing is the straight line accel.

Drive a honda S2K and then a Sky and you'll see the difference.

I've only sat in the Sky and the S2000 at car shows. Both are too small for me (6' tall). The Miata is the only car of that type that I can sit comfortably in. Oh, and the Boxster... I borrowed a friend's Boxster for a weekend -- pure joy! (and two trunks!)

I was only throwing the Sky out there since that poster liked Saturns. That's all.

A lease is based on how much the vehicle depreciates, so that would actually make sense.

I don't think anybody would expect a motorcyclist to be pointing out the mortality rates for the cages he... or she's gotta share the streets with. You should also know that's not the reason I don't own a bike, the temp here is currently .8F/-18C not to mention what riders here are shelling out for insurance for a few months of riding weather, it's just not really worth it.

Not trying to stir things up, and Canadian insurance may be completely different but I pay State Farm $218/year for really great coverage (better than what I have on our cars) for my 250cc.

It depends on what those riders have as to what their insurance will be (Hayabusas are probably pretty expensive to insure.) And it certainly pays to shop around. Geico wanted $600/year for lesser coverage. Progressive was around $325/year.

Privatize insurance here, if you don't go though the government for registration/insurance you don't get to have any vehicle on the streets. To insure a motorcycle you pay for the riding season, from May to September that covers you for all year of riding. If you should wanna load your bike on the back of a truck and head for Miami in February it wouldn't be a problem. Now somebody with a good driving record not perfect but nothing bizarre with a 600cc-1000cc sportbike could be paying up to $3000 for one year of riding.

It's getting to the point where most cancel their insurance and attend track days on the weekends, no inept drivers, inattentive soccer moms, Dirty Harry wanna be's, curb's, mailboxes, lamp post...

At $3000 a year how many years of insurance do you pay before you actually covered the cost of the bike? I worked with a guy that was looking at getting an older bike, they wanted more then what the bike was worth to insure it.

It's not a trailer queen. It got to 178,000 miles by being driven. Anyone who buys it, is buying it because of both the appearance mods and the performance mods.

All those mods + no burnouts = epic fail.

You would be an absolute idiot to pay $3000 a year for insurance for any bike. A buddy of mine pays $120 a month for amazing coverage on his brand new ZX6R, and has been in 3 at-fault accidents in the past 2 years. He's also 19. And he only pays month-to-month on his insurance. If he were to pay for a year in full, it would be about $1000.

I agree!

I see FOR SALE and then see this:

Ummm... no thanks!

I'm not the only one who thinks like that. I was at Repo Depot on the weekend and there were 2 350Zs there, one modded one stock. Guess which one people were bidding on?

As a general rule: Never buy a "modded" car from someone. It's likely been abused (see GIF above), badly modded and if the previous owner had enemies, they'll instantly reconnize his old car and you'll have to deal with his crap.

Point taken!

I do have a car, but it's just more fun on the bike. I logged about 11,000 miles in my car last year and just over 1,000 on the bike (granted I started the season late).

My insurance was $89 for the year.

I only procrastinated 5 months to post! After 13 years of driving my old car, it was time for a change. I just turned 40 on Friday, so why not now?

I wanted a small car (Mini / Fit / Prius sized) but my wife wanted a big-big car. So I figured, it's time to re-live my RWD AE-86 and V8 Mustang college days... but with room for a kiddie car seat and luggage!

2008 Infiniti M45s

Hey 91RS, long time no see! (I still remember your previous userID, but it escapes me at the moment).

Somehow, my last two photos of the four didn't get posted, but that's OK. They were stock photos anyhow.

At least the two that got posted are of my own. The outdoor one is in San Francisco (see skyline). The garage photo is of my Secret Squirrel parking spot below my office. I won't divulge the location of my parking spot! It's mine! Mine mine mine!

And knowing my luck, my building will probably have another HoFo member!

This is my Current Daily driver. Its a Toyota Chaser, with a modified wide body kit and upgraded turbo system. Nothing flashy like a new Skyline or some Ferrari but for being 12yrs old it is great car. Love taking it drifting and its got some power.

You want the ultimate driving machine E230 looks really out of date, it's a smaller engine compare to 328i and not a fun car to drive around with.
My 2 cents

it's a great car. test drove one two years ago and fell in love with it. decided i was going to get one eventually, just had to make a bit more money and find the perfect deal which i did here.

Posted by: WirelessAndy

I drove the M35 first at the dealer, and it was OK. Then I pointed to a used black 2006 M45S (just like yours) on the lot and asked to give it a spin. That did it for me.

Very cool to see another M45 Sport around here. One black, one white. Reminds me of that Maxima commercial.

yea, it was between this and an 07 M35S but after thinking, i'd miss the V8. love the size, just a tad bigger on the inside compared to my altima but the handling is amazing. i can't believe this thing weighs around 4000lbs.

1- Pontiac SunRunner '95 (Suzuki SideKick) this is the winter go to work car, bring the dog to the park car

2- Pontiac Vibe 2006 (got a better deal on it than the Matrix) Family Car

3- THE TOY Mazda Miata '92 with a Garret GT2560 turbo (Bell Engineering S3 turbo system), 3" exhaust, LINK stand alone engine management ... running 14 PSI 0-60mph under 5 sec.It has about 220 HP at the wheels. (It is faster than a WRX STI or 5.0 L 'stang)

Early summer I will get rid of the SunRunner and pick up a Subaru Impreza (Sport 5D)

Sweet!!! That's a crazy amount of power for a NA Miata's weight. Do you take it to the track?

Good choice for the upcoming dog-carrier replacement. My mom has 1st gen. Forester and she uses it for everything.

I may track the car but racing belongs on the street (joking)

With converibles tracking the car is difficult due to safety requirements. You must have a cerifed rollbar. My car does have a HardDog rollbar but it is not cert. the Duece is about 1" to short with a helment on.

But I can take the Duece out put on the stock hardtop (made of thin fiberglass) and it would be legal .... go figure.

Ah, the broomstick test.
Yeah, we've got a '90 (red of course) and factory hardtop but no rollbar. The bf has a ridiculously long torso and even w/ a racing seat, still bubbles the soft-top w/ a helmet so we just do autox. Our Mazda club will let us to HPDEs w/ the hardtop on, but we don't want to take the risk (of becoming addicted).

Posted by: gwilo

My reason for not tracking the car is that I have dropped over $ 25k into mods on the car and to not want to see all that money wrapped around somenthing, lets say on "Turn 2".

With the Costal Mountains and the Rockies so close there are so many place I can enjoy driving it.

In a 'stock' Miata climbing hills was a problem as every SUV or Minivan can beat you to the top then you get stuck behind them when you get to the twisties.

Now even Mustangs, HEMI's and WRX STI are stuck behind ME

Economy, fun and practicality all in one. My co-worker has one (in blue) and it's a great car. The only issue I have is Honda's drive by wire throttle. the RPMs just don't drop when shifting gears (off throttle) and that feels weird. It's also hard to heel-toe because of the lag when you blip the throttle.

But overall, I love this thing.

My "new" car, a 1993 Buick Regal Custom with the 3800 V6. Has 185,000 miles, but runs like a dream. A/C works great, power windows, but the power locks don't work, and it's missing an exterior driver-side handle, so getting in and out can be a pain sometimes. But hey, the car was free, so I can't complain.

Debadging the rear takes about 30-60 minutes. You gonna do the front grill too??

There's a transparent black spraypaint made for plastice models. If you paint the chrome with that is will look like black chrome..I think it would look nasty..

Yes it has ZHP pacakge. I've just changed a few things on the outside and put new KW coilovers as an excuse because my car has 180,000kms on it and needed a suspension refresh. My friend has a MKIV GTI 1.8T and it's a monster with power when the software is reloaded with APR.

KWs are fantastic. Used the V3s on my past 911 and STI. I considered a ZHP 330, but still pricey for a decent one. For the 2.0FSI, and APR makes a great tune for it, but not sure if I want to bother modifying it. More of just a comfortable fun commuter car for now. At most I would do the tune

I love them. They feel just like my stock suspension which I am very happy with. And I can adjust them to a tad softer or much more harder than stock depending on what I'm trying to accomplish on the pavement. ZHP is pricey but the feeling I get when I even just drive 5kms is great! Every drive is exciting and fun to do no matter where I go. And having 4 doors makes it a great daily driver to haul stuff, and people. I hate getting out of the car to let someone from the back out when it's pouring rain...I think that's a sign of getting old.

A tuned 2.0T gives a ton of torque and happiness for your highway merging & passing needs.

2001 Subaru Outback Wagon - can't stand it lol.

2000 Honda Odyssey LX - been to all 48 continental states, has 178,000+ miles on it, ORIGINAL TRANSMISSION for those of you who know a bit about the 2nd generation Odyssey's infamous transmission problems. Still going strong, nothing but a tiny bit of transmission whine. Road trips every summer, none of them shorter than 8,000 miles in total. Last year we took a tour around the States in two and a half weeks, totaling over 10,000 miles - not a single problem.

1994 Toyota Corolla DX - badass on MPGs, yo.

and finally, my 1990 Infiniti M30. Pride and joy, that car. Even though I"m 15 and won't have a license until next year.. Got it in 2004, in the process of restoring the rarest Infiniti ever produced
