What car do you drive?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I love your plate number!!

And because I have a 330, I'm always late.

Posted by: vinvam

That M3 is sick. Nice Volks too. Did you take of the Volk decal or something? (People are gonna think you're running Rotas or something)

Posted by: Baldilocks

My 2001 Camaro SS. Just recently purchased. One of 153 in that color made in 2001 and only 1 of 2 identical cars.

Might do some mild modifications to it at some point. (heads, intake, supercharger)..... for now it's pretty much stock. 345hp/350 ft.-lbs. torque.

Thanks! yeah they were just to tacky and flashy for me. my cars a bit of a sleeper. I actually have a full CF and Kevlar Splitter and Diffuser for the car and i never ride with it. It attracts to much attention and is dangerous out there on the pothole streets in Waikiki lol! I have a few other mods on it.
19" Volk LE37 Wheels
Toyo T1R 245/35/19, 275/30/19
Matte Black Kidney Grill
Matte Black Fender Grills
Depot Smoked Corners
ACS Pedals
RE Clutch Stop
B&B TriFlow Exhaust System
Custom Performance Rasp Terminator
15% Tint All Around
Depot Smoked Side Markers
ZHP Weighted Shift Knob
Bimmian Painted Reflectors
Smoked LED Taillights
CSL Style Carbon Fiber Splitters

there is quite a few goodies under the hood though that i just leave as surprises. I do NOT run spray though.

Here it is currently with the CF splitter kit.

very nice! do the red HALO's make it go faster? im just kidding i actually love it the Punisher logos on the caps are hella sick! my dad has the KMC Rockstar wheels on his truck and they have Nautical style stars.

Your SRT-8 looks soooo mean! If I saw that in my rearview mirror I would have to move over, thinking that my car could possibly get eaten alive with me in it.

I went downtown to learn how to play with external flashes/strobes for a couple hours. And here are a couple pictures of many that I came up with. Nothing as mean as an M3 or SRT-8 though.

But I'm excited on how awesome it is to play with light in this way! Photography is limitless everytime I try something new!

That Charger looks mean, but what do the cops think of the red halos? I think it would look much nicer if they were white, and it might even make some drivers think it's a BMW coming from behind.

My (small) town has a Charger police car, and that HEMI sounds nice when it drives by!

Why would you want to make others think your car is something it isnt? thats like sticking a VTEC sticker on a stock Civic DX...

His charger is officially clean as can be. I love the Halo's regardless of color it makes it look different then the normal "gangsta charger" i see roaming streets lately

Posted by: MINIz guy

Well, I wasn't hinting for the original poster to try and make his car a BMW. I was just saying that I normally associate the halos (angel eyes) with BMW's and that other drivers might also.

I'm sure the owner of the Charger added the halos for his own good, not to make it look like some other car. I've seen an Infiniti G35 with halos on its lights, probably not because wanted to look like another car, but because it looked good on his own car. I was just saying that as a BMW fan, it reminded me of a BMW and it might remind other drivers of a BMW, instead of a Charger.

Same here ... Can't deny the halo is originated from BMW, first developed for the E39 5 series, a decade ago. But not to say it's NOT ok to be develop into other brands of vehicles. Hey! if it looks good, why not? But IMHO, if I see a car in my rear view mirror with a set of halo head light, I damn sure will believe it's a bimmer, that will be my first reaction.

Are those ROTA Slips? But that 240 is tight!

Our new X5 has been here for a little over a week. Just getting used to all these new iDrive features compared to our other BMW's without a navigation! Still have mixed feelings over which X5 I like better. The power and technology of the new diesel, or the true "BMW" feel of the old one.

Really nice E70 you got there I like the color combo, and the sport and navi package. Wonder how's the power on your diesel and the mpg?
Great car

Posted by: MINIz guy

Well, the new E70 X5 has 265HP and 425 lb-ft of torque which is way more than the 225HP and 214 lb-ft of torque on our older E53. When passing needed to be at 4500RPM in the E53 is now at 3000RPM on the E70. Gas mileage is hovering around 20MPG with mixed local/highway driving. We're still not done with the break-in period to really see the true potential of speed and gas mileage.

The new X5 doesn't have the sport package but rather Adaptive Drive. For the 2010MY X5's, BMWNA decided to be cheaper and split the Sports Package into the Sport Activity Package and Adaptive Drive. Instead of getting the sport package looks, (steering wheel, headliner, Shawdowline exterior trim) we got Adaptive Drive which is basically the sport suspension.

At this point, I still think the E53>E70. I haven't had enough seat time to do a thorough review, but from what I've seen, I like the older one.

Man, that's F-ing alot of torgue, and I think 265 HP is good enough for a SUV. Judging by the sport seat and shadow line trim, I really thought that's with the sport package, I don't even know how many packages they offer now, I'm lost
Thanks for the info, great car MINIz guy!

Posted by: huskyfan23

The X5 M has 500 lb-ft of torque

Posted by: MINIz guy

Man, why do you have to rub in the fact we can't afford a $100k X5M? Just kidding!

But yes, BMW has many different options that differentiate between packages. For instance, our matte anodized aluminum trim is only for non-sport 3.0si and 3.5d engines. Chrome trim is reserved for the 4.8i. Shadowline is for sport package vehicles. I have noticed from BMW car owners, primarily 3 series drivers, that matte window trim is more popular than chrome or shadowline. I think matte window trim is too boring and on every X5, shadowline is the to-get option and chrome is decent since it is a little different. I've been trying to find out ways to get cheaper shadowline options for our E53, since my parents won't let me touch the E70 with modifications. I've got a few ideas which I'll save for a later date.

Posted by: CellphoneFreaks

Sport package is a must although I'm not sure what does the package include nowadays... It use to have the seat, shadowline trim, suspension and wheels, now I see body kits... um more money to spend I guess
The M is a beast, I will take it over Cayenne no question
Wonder if it has the feature like the M5 give you the option to choose v8 or v10 for regular driving?

Posted by: MINIz guy

The M5 gives you the option of P400 (400HP), P500 (500HP) and another "M" mode for full 501HP I believe. It runs on 10 cylinders all the time.

The X5M is a beast. I've read that owners are really surprised with the SAV, even owners coming from E60 M5's and in one instance, a Porsche 911 owner. It is quite a beast, but I'm waiting for the new F10 M5. Rumored to have around 600HP and a redline of 9000RPM (!!!) with a V8TT. Crazy stuff, maybe it will be the ultimate saloon that is even faster than the Porsche Panamera.

Posted by: huskyfan23

I heard that you cannot disable the stability control system on the X5 M. Truth? It's faster than its competition, but lacks in the handling department.

Posted by: CellphoneFreaks

It will be suck if X5M's lack of handling, it can't be Drop with KW and it should be set, I hope
F10 M5 will be something look forward to, but I'm still in love with the N/A v10 and the option to drive like a v8 or switch to v10 when at a red light

'03 1.8L 4cyl Turbo

Fuel pump went out, heated seat in the driver's side shorted out and burned a hole through the leather, the damn headlights went out every 6 months or so and they're like $60 each and the straw that broke the camel's back were the ignition coils...in a span of maybe 18 months I replaced 5 or 6 of them. I can't remember the details but they were maybe $75 each plus labor.

We sold it, I bought a 2007 Camry and haven't looked back.

Posted by: EChid

Yikes, none of those are related to the type of engine either. I'm heading to Ottawa for co-op and the Mazda is bound to suck in the snow, so I was looking for something better.

It's a beast in the snow, no doubt, but you take the good with the bad and we just got tired of the bad.

203,000km, or 126,000 miles.

1 owner(lawyer), well taken care of. I take very good care of my cars as well, i'm not worried. This car is in impeccable shape, well worth the price paid.

Like I said, best of luck. We bought ours with 60k miles and sold it before we even hit 100k. It's made me gun-shy about Audis too.

Just because the guy is a lawyer doesn't mean he maintains his car any better than the rest of the general population.

You can get an A4 or A6, but what model year? The older one have TON of problems, only recent year have been improving, but then the price are not comparable.
Older Audi have too many problems, that's why they are comparable in price, but rather go with used Acura or Lexus or pay a little more for a CPO BMW

I meant it in a sense that I have all his receipts for all work done. He took very good care of the car.

I'm sure though that when it was running, you enjoyed the car very much!

And that is precisely why I miss my VW. Yeah, there were problems (and plentiful), but I enjoyed the way it drove, and that made it worthwhile in my view. My Mazda looks cool and should be reliable...but I don't really like the way it drives. Except on curves. Which is about 2% of the time.

Posted by: hybrid.09

Sold the A4, now looking to pick up an 04 Jetta GLI or VR6 relatively soon.

Posted by: EChid

Why no A4?

Btw, they didn't do the VR6 model in '04. I believe it was limited to a GLI (with the 2.8) and a GLI 1.8t. I really don't know which engine would be more reliable.
