A silver G35 Coupe....no silver is not for old people. The silver matches my car perfectly, same color as the 18's and the clear corners blend in oh so beautifully. I always get compliments on the cars color and lines because of the silver.

But hopefully in a year or two a silver MB CLS 500 or MB CL 500 will be in my driveway....soon as I get a glimpse of the CL redesign.

I would never buy a front wheel drive car. All that power in a front wheel drive car doesn't make sense. Acura needs to give up on their whole FWD forever stance.

Ahh, that was before I got my 3. I was looking at a used 2000 323i or a 97 540i. Quite similar in price really.

BMW still runs in my blood and in a few years I'll be driving an E90 3-series coupe.

you might want to check out impala ss forum and maybe your 9c1 wont be stock anymore. That board isnt just for Impalas but early to mid 90's b-bodies and even some d-bodies.

Does your 9c1 have a LT1?

Got it fixed, and its driving good as new.

I recently bought a BMW Z4 3.0i Silver Titanium. Its a fun car that feel like a go-kart performance. I mostly drive with the top down, even when I'm sick and it freezes my asss off.

That's one of the forum I used to check once a days.

Yes, I remember there is a slammed Mazda3 . The reason I have to pick E-class replica cuz there are only few rims able to fit on 05 C230 Sport Sedan, which has a front big brake kit. So I believe you will see some other C with E rims later.

Posted by: c^2

I just used my stock rims for winter. I can't go smaller than 16" (stock is 17) because of brake clearance too.

I have 18's coming for spring.

I think I've also seen your G around at U of T. Love your HREs!

I want to use my stock rims too, but Dave@Steelcase said staggered setup isn't a good idea to drive on snow

Mazda 3 with 18" looks pimp. I have seen few of them while I was working in Markham Mazda. And I truly believe that M3 is a great car to drive. Enjoy

Yes, I used to park my car behind SS. Thanks for compliment about the wheels, but 19" is just too small for me now

Posted by: c^2

wow...I never realized the C230 such an agressive sport package...big front rotors...staggered setup...

Believe it or not, the new 05 C230 Sport Sedan with new suspension setup, new 6spd gearbox design, and front BBK (most important ), it is a fun daily car to drive. And I am planning to get ECU and pulley upgrade, which looking at about 30hp increase.

Vancouver reminds me very much of San Francisco, in many/most respects. It's like a small replica of San Francisco, sans the crime, prejudice and I think a little less gayness.

Maybe you should drop by Vancouver on your way back Clem, I bet you'd like it. Although, haven't you ever been? I remember you wanted to go to UBC before, so I'm guessing you've probably been here... or maybe had a transit at YVR on your way to the Far East? Vancouver r0x0rz my s0x0rz.

Subaru's are ugly in general, but only a few cars really appeal to me so I don't care too much about how it looks. There are a lot of Subaru people that agree they are kinda ugly, but when you've been around a lot of Subarus the STi is quite beautiful compared to the rest.

I think the hood would look fine without the scoop, just see some RS's with a few minor exterior mods it look a lot better.

Take a look this WRX (I-club member) with no scoop:

I know the intercooler is bright and draws away from the rest of the car, but hopefully everyone can see what I'm saying. I think it makes a big difference and with a black FMIC it wouldn't draw as much attention as it normally does (which is good IMO).

Also here is a quick video ( a bit dark) that has an RS with an STi wing (silver car), a pretty good visualization: http://video.rally1.com/Movie_0009.wmv

Just my 2 cents , sorry if i got carried away.

Posted by: phatstud

i love subarus in general... my fisrt one was a 85' wagon... sold it about 8 yrs ago with more than 150,000miles. the current owner has put at least another 100,000 on it and it still hauls ×××.

the past few yrs has been a big come around as far as styling goes. my has the aero of a ×××× brick going down the hwy, but i still get decent gas mileage. still love my buyeye scooby though.

Yea Nero I'm fairly sure. STi's are very fast. Only have to pull 10 pounds per horse.

Posted by: phatstud

in the states theres the 02/03' models with 'bugeye' headlights. styling changed for the 04' with different headlights, more defined hood along with scoop.

before that both the uk and jpn had just the STi basically. and theres several generations of those.

It would probably help if you quoted who you are referring to otherwise it looks like you are posting random info.

I could see if you were commenting on INNOVA, but if you were referring to bronco that was a quarter of the page up.

LOL, sorry the computer was lagging and I kept on clicking!

Yeah, those STi's are pretty quick, it'd be an ok race with my Buick. I've beat a couple of them on the street, surprised my stock 147K granny grocery-getter was able to hold off the new technology and AWD!! I'm sure you know about Turbo Regals, Grand Nationals, etc etc, since you have a fast car aswell!!

I still look out the window and smile everytime I see it.

But I love the look of the protege5. Just not enough muscle for me.

Hey, sorry took so long (usually on other boards).
The turbo Regals in 84-87 were WAY ahead of their time. The 86-87 were intercooled... so mine is intercooled, stock EVERYTHING except I hotwired the fuel pump, slapped on a "hi flow" cat, and put on a 3" downpipe (stock is 2.5"). Bolt ons. Haven't been to the track with her yet but those little bolt ons and some other odds and ends to get the 17 year old beast running right, should put me in the 13s. For most stop-light to stop-light racers that don't know how to drive, that's enough. These cars have a HUGE aftermarket... even has an "11 second recipe" for 1500 worth of parts (300 of it are tires!!!) hahaha... but yeah real nice car, I love it. These babys come stock pushing 15 lbs of boost... I plan on getting an alky injection kit so I can crank the boost to 24-26 pounds!!! CRAZY GET UP!!!!!

Anywho.. that's a "brief" look into the turbo regals...

Posted by: Skylinepilot

Whats the displacement on that regal?

Posted by: Smeech

They had the good ol 3.8.

Posted by: INNOVA

The 3800 series? Then turbocharged?

Kinda like the new Grand Prix GTP's except they are supercharged.

Posted by: Smeech

that and they were RWD and ran low 14s stock. (GNXs have been said to run 13s stock)

'05 Mitsubishi Galant GTZ 3.8 V6 very economy car (sticker told me 19-29 MPG) - fun to drive, powerful like a sport cars, but kinna small inside after switching from avalon tho!

Miss my '99 Toyota Avalon (sold because he drink like a fish, I counted and it's around 9-10 average MPG and getting worse day by day) - Real fun and comfort, but I think this guy needs more muscle (never passed an 18 wheelers, I hate it when I'm in rush). I'm getting that again sometimes later when I can afford for the second car or when I need the second car.....

I sat in one at the autoshow and wasn't impressed. Feels exactly like a Civic (i.e. flimsy). Hell, even my Mazda much more solid-feeling doors.

I wouldn't want to buy a car that feels cheap. That's one reason why I like older cars, not everything in then in plastic.

Posted by: JimmyC

Nothing is cheaper than an used old car, beaten to death and farted countless times on the driver's seat by the previous owner(s).

And nothing is cheaper than a cheap guy (read "cannot afford new car smell") to get a cheap used car, then blame brand new cars having cheap plastics.

Give me a break! My car is over 10 years old and the only easily noticeable problem with the interior is a small crack on the grill of the driver side front speaker, and the top corners of the airbag are a little warped. If that is your definition of "beaten to death," then I don't even know how to respond to that.

Where did you get this crap about being cheap and not getting a new car because they have cheap plastics? I didn't get a new car because I don't need a new car for my first car, I prefer older cars, and my car is PAID FOR. If you have enough money to only buy brand new cars, well have at it buddy.

No problems starting..

I wish it was 55 when that pic was taken.. It was around 0 to -10 at that time. That was around late Novmber. A good part of this winter it was below -5 all day. It is now just starting to stay around 35 to 45 all day. It will not go above 55 and stay till around the end of March or in to April..

I've only got a `93 Ford Sierra but I'm happy with it. It's the car I'd have over what a lot of my friends are driving.

The only car I ever remember my family having that worth remembering was a Rover SD1. It was a 3.5 V8 so it definately wasn't slow compared to most of the cars on the road in the UK. It had a serious amount of power to overtake and what not even though it ended up being considered slow by critics seeings it was a V8 and it was a heavy car. They also ended up being considered unreliable otherwise it would have been a great car from Rover. They were half way there with a lot of the chosen engine specs and electrics but were let down by a lot of the quality and overall design.

Nonthing is lower then you making quotes about what people drive in. Or how much that person has to spend on what they drive.

I drive in a 1990 Lincoln Town Car. Yes it's 14 years old, but it's freaking awesome as a travel car. Just last summer I took it to Ohio and back. No problems. And I also drive it on a daily bases.

Yeah, but my "used old car" and "beaten to death" blah blah blah blah ride that actually does what it needs to do without a fuss. This is the same "used old car" and "beaten to death" blah blah blah blah that had to help my brother who had a 98 Eclipse GST with the "new car smell" move his personal stuff from San Diego to Riverside and back and from Riverside to Irvine and back. His ride couldn't handle squat, even if you removed the sub that he stashed in the trunk....awesome ride it was, but other than cruising PCH or State St. it couldn't do much. Chances are he's gonna require the assistance of the "used old car" and "beaten to death" blah blah blah blah ride when he moves again...his 98 Audi A4 (again an awesome ride) isn't gonna help them in this regard. I don't mind driving this "beaten to death" ride to help family out...

And, my this is the very same "used old car" and "beaten to death" blah blah blah blah ride that helps me move my stuff in one trip without blocking my view of the rear windows from San Diego to Santa Barbara.

And, this "used old car" and "beaten to death" blah blah blah blah ride is called a 1987 Plymonth Voyager.

Where do you get off putting down used cars? There's nothing wrong with them if you know what you're looking for.

I've got 2 used cars extremely cheap (less than £100 each) and there's been nothing wrong with them and needed nothing doing to them. They were both being driven when they were bought. One car is a `93 Ford Sierra, which I drive myself, and has been with me for a few years. Still looks good today. The other car is a `87 Saab 9000i but isn't been driven on the road at the moment (no need for it to be at the moment) but was given a hard drive before it was parked up and was fine. Even after sitting through the winter for months the car still started first time with no problems.

Just because they're old and used it doesn't mean they're a pile of crap. My grandad has a `90 Ford Orion he bought from new and it puts cars that are even quite new on the road to shame. The finish looks like the car is still brand new and even though a lot don't believe him, he's still got the exhaust on it that came with it when it was new. It's only just started to blow recently. Not sure of the mileage but I know it's not low for it's age.
