USB Infrared Cable & Serial DATA CABLE ??? are these cable used for the same purpose??? which one better??

Posted by: Darkfusion

Well I have both and I can use both for downloading email to my comp & my phone numbers. If your're trying to use it for downloading ringtones, I don't believe that they have software yet available, but you can just email the ringtones to yourself via email to your phone and then download it. Hope this has answered your question.

Sorry, the Serial one would be better it is more reliable although the infared works nice as long as nothing is in its way. I personally preffer using the serial just cause I know I will not have any interuption issues.

Can you use your data cable to send pictures from the phone to your computer?

If so, what program can help me do this?

Thanks

Your phone has bluetooth so why not bluetooth your pc. A bt USB dongle will cost you almost the same as the usb cable (little more) and it works great. You can sync your email, calendar and contacts as well as upload and download pics, themes, ringtones and games to and from your phone.

To send files using the USB or Serial cable, try "Sendfile"

You can only send images to the phone but, what if you want to send a ringtone, a contact, a game or any other file? Just use SendFile!

Requires Mobile Phone Monitor
