Ok follow closely: First you have to set up your Data Account: 1) Goto Menu-Connectivity-Data comm. 2) Select "Preferred service" and make sure it is on "GPRS and GSM" if it isn't then select it 3) Select "SMS access" and make sure it is on "GSM" and if it isn't then select it 4) Select "Data accounts" 5) Select "New account" 6) Select "GPRS data" 7) Name it whatever you want, I named mine "T-Mobile GPRS" 8) Now choose to edit the "APN", here you will enter in "wap.voicestream.com" (without the quotes of course) 9) Select "Save" (NOTE: The User id, Password, IP address, and DNS address will all be left blank, this should be their default, but if there is something entered in be sure to delete it) Now that you have created a Data Account onto configuring your WAP settings 1) Goto Menu-Connectivity-WAP options-WAP profiles 2) Select "New profile" 3) Enter in any name you wish, I entered in "GPRS" 4) Edit the "Connect using" and choose the Data Account that you made above 5) Edit the IP address, enter in "216.155.165.050" (without the quotes) 6) Select "Save" And that my friends is how to set up the internet for a Z600. And just because I'm at work and I have nothing else to do, let me tell you how to set up your Picture MSGs. 1) Goto Menu-Messaging-Picture-Options 2) Select "WAP profile" 3) Select "Select" 4) Now choose the WAP profile that you made above 5) Go back to the Options screen 6) Select "Message server" 7) Enter in "74.84/servlets/mms" (without the quotes, hopefully you've caught on to that by now) And there you have it, your phone is set up to use with T-Mobile. Hope that helps you guys out took me awhile to get all that information gathered up from sites and actually calling Sony Erricson for the Picture set up. If you don't understand any of the above, then FORGET you, I made it pretty much idiot proof! |

Originally posted by der_mittelfrank ok guys, you are really hard to yourself. if you use the following as your startadress (homepage) you can use t-zones in english or us language wap.t-zones.com for german language wap.t-zones.de and yes, it works. thats it. just tried it for you. so stop crying |
Hey Der_mittelfrank, that is your site over there. What we are having a problem with is the US site is not allowing us to use our Z600 and T-mo will not give us the support because they do not sell the phone. But thanks for the site anyway

Originally posted by l_c Yeah, I don't want the UK content (news, clubs, whatever) from wap.t-zones.com I want to read the T-Mobile USA WAP deck which is wap.myvoicestream.com I noticed that it does work from a Nokia 3100 (which I figured is "unsupported"), but still I see emptiness on my T226 ... and I think it's not just blocking phone models, it has more to do with the browser (user-agent) passing. SonyEricsson added a bunch of handset specs (the xml) just last month, let's hope that Voicestream/T-Mobile fixes this now. |
Hopefully they (T-mo)will get off there ---and fix it.
Response (Data Escalations01) - 12/03/2003 05:57 PM Thank you for taking the time to contact T-Mobile. Regarding your Trouble Ticket 528056 (which is an Engineering Ticket), it is currently in "working" status. According to the ticket, it is regarding Intermittent WAP failures to Top Deck. There is no Estimated Time of Resolution on this issue.
. If you have problems with it pm me.
...Tmobile and MMode are useless....

can not get msn, aol,or HoFo, but others are ok
yahoo, google, SE, esato, mapquest and t-zones eng and germany.
I do know that now Nokia's are working ... so if one "unsupported" phone is able to access the t-zones wap site, than they should all be able to access it!!
| When I try to connect, the browser boots up and says "Loading" ... "Connecting" ... "GPRS parameters not supported" ... "Communication error. Try again or contact your WAP service provider." |
Had I known of this problem Saturday, I would not have bought the Z600 - although I am very enthusiastic about the phone otherwise.

Symptom t-zones home page does not display or displays blank page on handsets not sold by T-Mobile Symptom t-zones WAP deck homepage always displays blank page Symptom External WAP sites display normally but not wap.myvoicestream.com T-Mobile cannot guarantee the functionality of any non-T-Mobile device or software. Attempts can be made to configure unsupported handsets using over-the-air (OTA) updates or manual configurations; however, if unsuccessful, the issue should be escalated to WDS or the device manufacturer. When T-Mobile approves a specific handset for use on its network, it is ensured that the firmware of the model is optimized for T-Mobile's network. Unsupported handsets may have inadequate ways of logging on to and initiating communication with the network. The typical end result seen is that the t-zones homepage displays as completely blank and empty without an error message, even though other WAP sites show normally. Here are some steps to try to resolve this issue: Verify that the WAP settings are correct. If settings are not available, contact WDS. Contact the equipment manufacturer for any updated software or firmware. If these steps do not work, then unfortunately there is nothing that can be done by T-Mobile for unsupported handsets. A fully t-zones compatible handset can be purchased from www.t-mobile.com.

Originally posted by kgebauer I had all sorts of problems connecting to T-Zones with my Z-600 over the past 9 months. Then this week I noticed an updated WAP routine at the Sony-Ericsson website. Entered my cell number, it downloaded, I followed the directions on the site, and VOILA!!! I had T-Zones. The S-E website is http://www.sonyericsson.com/spg.jsp...ps1_1&pid=10104 |
