what are some of the best deals on the currently avaiable Smart Phones?
I have a T-mobile plan right now, and would like to buy a smart phone without a service contract... The $300 price tag from BB is just too high for me, does anyone know other good deals?
thanks a lot in advance!

You're not going to find a Smartphone w/o a contract for under $300

I met a Verizon rep the other day who told me that the Samsung i600 is supposed go retail in a couple of weeks.

is the Moto MPx200 a tri-band GSM/GPRS phone? I was reading the description on Amazon (ATTWS), it says it supports GSM 1800/1900 only. On the other hand, on Moto's own website and a lot other review sites, it says it's a tri-band phone.
any thoughts?
I think I am going to go for the BB $300 deal, if it's a tri-band phone.

Here in the U.S., the MPx200 is a dual band phone only...a problem if you don't live near a metro area or you travel. Personally, for me, reception has been excellent around NYC and also in smaller towns in NJ on the T-Mobile network.
As for Smartphones under $300, I think the only one you can find for that price is the original SPV...I'm planning on selling mine and by looking around I think you can probably get one for about $200.

Ah, perspective.
Verizon's Smartphone (the Samsung i600) is rumored to be selling at:
$499 with a two year contract
$549 with a one year contract
$649 without a contract
Even with the additional extended battery and leather case they're throwing in, I'd KILL for a $300 BB price on it. I can't get GSM/GPRS where I live, so it's my only choice now.
