Treo 600 Screen Resolution Comparison....

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I am THIS close to ordering myself a Treo 600 through work (Cingular) but after checking out the specs for it at www.handspring.com, it appears that the screen displays fewer colors than the Treo 270. and considering the fact that the treo 270 is sitting next to me and I hate the screen, i was just curious if the treo 600's screen was any better. regardless, im getting this phone for its capabilities (SD/MMC slot, integrated camera, bluetooth, touch screen, the works...) but the screen is just something im just curious about. any help is appreciated. thanks...

fewer colors? How many colors does the Treo 270 display?

i just realized i was reading the wrong section. but in that case, for the treo 600, all it says is "thousands of colors". anyone know quite how many thousands?

I believe the Treo 600 is 65K.

The Treo 270 was 4K

how many pixels is treo 270...treo 600 is low res:160 x 160

The screen is 12 bit. That translates to about 6K colors, i believe.

Heck I have a TREO 600 and the display is great. I have the Sprint Version, but same hardware. No problems.

The treo 600 supports 4k colors and doesn't have bluetooth..you can add bluetooth with a sdio card, when one comes out.

The screen on the Treo 600 is 12 bit (4096 colors) and 160x160 resolution, same as the Treo 270 and 300. However it's MUCH brighter. Also, it's a tad smaller so images seem crisper than on my old 300. Before you dismiss getting a 600 because of the screen, take a look at one in person for yourself if possible. It's a night and day difference.
