How low will the P900 go?

How low do you think the P900 will go in price before it bottoms out and what price will it be? i.e. the P800 has stablizied for some time between $500-$600 now...not sure how long it's been out, maybe a year?

I am very tempted to get a P900 since I never had a P800 or a smartphone before (using a Tungsten|T w/my T616).

I understand it's amazing but $800+?? I can afford it for sure just having trouble justifying the purchase!

800 bucks for a phone?
i would think twice be4 shipout 800 bucks 4 a phone.

for 800 bucks, i would buy a pair nice gucci shoes and a flare jeans or a coat for winter, because they last much longer than a CELLPHONE.

never mind these if u parents r billionaires.

Wirelessly posted (My T616: Mozilla/4.76 [en] (PalmOS; U; WebPro3.0; Palm-Arz1))

There's just so much you can get for $800 or more. Like a kicka$$ vacation abroad, a laptop, a ton of clothes, lots of good meals at fancy restaurants, etc...

How bad is the P800 compared to the P900? Is it worth even getting? I can probably find a P800 for ~$400-$500 which is still high but more reasonable..

It's not like it's just a phone....that'd be a bit nuts I agree. It's a PDA too and that makes it very, very useful to people who comp for them.

And as for parents being billionaires, I doubt very much that many P900 users have gotten them through their parents.....most, I would think, are people who have earned money the good old fashioned way and want to use the P900 to make working more efficient. While it is a cool toy, I'm getting mine primarily because of the advantages it'll bring me personally in a business setting.

Yah i want one badley but its a bit steep for me. Though i know some people at sony so i am going to give them a call and see if they can get one for a good price though i dout it since its a sister company but its worth a shot.

If you want it for its PDA features, et al, get the P800.... it is almost half the price and PDA-wise it is basically identical...

now if you want the toy-edge, the nice looking, slimmer, better screen, then yes, get the P900.... (If I hadnt gotten the p800, I'd go fo the p900 - but purely because I like being on the edge, not because the features justify the higher price)

That's the price you pay to be the first kid on the block to sport the new model.

Keep in mind that there are new phones comming out for all types of makes and models retailing for almost just as much as a p800 despite the fact that they don't even come close to functionality.

Wait a while...then buy it.

So what if your not the only guy on the block who has the phone...even still when I bust out my p800, people still think i've got the latest and greatest....some know a p800 has been around for a year...but even they are surprised because it's still the first time they've "seen" it......You're main goal is just to not get a nokia...cause everyone and their pet animals are sporting snorkias.

At work I used to have a t68i till someone was like wow....nice phone, one week later they got the same one....so I got a 3650....wow nice phone...1 month later 3 people got it....now with my p800 phone I get damn nice phone....but they don't know where to buy it so they can't get it....ahahahahahahahah!

Thanks for the feedback people...

What I don't understand yet is apart from the better screen, design and updated OS what is the other difference between the P800 and P900??

If I get a P800 now will I kick myself when I see (if I see) a P900 ever?

You are right about many things, for example...being a cell phone junkie I know all about the P800 but I've never seen or met anyone in NYC!! who has one...I commute with thousands of people a day and I've never seen one...

I don't care so much about the new kid on the block crap because that grows old way too fast...just want good functionality.

How is the P800 as a phone/pda? Does it compare to Palm's PDA functionality? I have a Tungsten | T I use with my T616 so I would like a P800 to replace both...

Thanks again for your help...

I am pretty sure that if you get a P800, and then see a P900 you'll want it... but that is just the same as if you had a 2003 BMW, and then saw the 2004 model, with slightly redesigned rims... you'd be like "owwww, these rims look soooo good....".... if you get a p900 you'll find your excuses "wow, its sooo much smaller (even though it isnt THAT small)" "wow, the screen is GREAT (even tho you dont really need a screen like that"... get it? at least I'm like that....

on your other question, I think the P800 is a pretty good PDA... I use it, and have synced with both Lotus (I hate this CRPAAA!) and outlook... I have used some cool 3rd party apps, and overall it is the best phone I've ever had....

I havent, however, used a palm in ages so I cant really compare....
