I know they say that products with this new spec will ship beginning next year, but is there any word yet as to whether this will be available for the P800/P900's and Bluespoons?

Might make things work better.

Typicaly, this kind of spec. upgrade is hardware specific, which means only new BT chips can incorporate the new standard, so you can't flash an exisitng chip with the new revision.

If anybody knows different, please enlighten us.

I'd say like USB 2.0 it's a hardware issue so not available for the P800/900 but a future model

I dont think USB 2.0 is a good anology anymore... They renamed USB 1.1 to USB 2.0 full-speed. Likely in order to sell more of the old slow USB 1.1 devices.

They renamed USB 2.0 to USB 2.0 high-speed.
