Ok, so it's "new" (...sort of, you all know that the mini's been around for like what, 40 years?)

Ok, so it's "cute".

But why spend time cramped up in that little shoebox of a deathtrap waiting to get killed by an idiot talking on a mobile while driving an SUV?

The adoration is, well to put it mildy, misplaced on this thing.

have you actually sat in one? I have. it' REALLy roomy considering the dimensions

well I sat in one at the auto show. it IS really nice inside...a little TOO nice. It just doesn't fit the idea of what Mini is supposed to represent.
Small, Sporty, Cheap..and thats it.

But the new one is small, sporty, but definately not cheap. I guess its the same with the Beetle but that still sold well.

its because there are alot of Mini fans..and they will buy one...or some rich ppl will buy it because it is like a collector's item...u see those retro/new cars have a huge success..like the beetle/PT cruiser/ford thunderbird or what ever that retro/new convertible is called

yeah i agree! that is what BMW's vision of the new Mini. they wanted to make the mini far better than it was before. improve everything and do it with style. =) i want one myself!

one thing they're missing...HID lightz. i think my next car got to have that. there is no way in hell am i gonna stay w/ halogen. it's so dim!!!

lol...yea..i saw an audi with HIDs nex to some old accord with halogens..and the difference was like..WOW

there is a BIG diff. HID looks so much better! it's a cool colour light. i mean, it gives it a more cooler (temperature wise) feel to it. IMO when i see halogen, i feel hot because of it. imagine desk lamps w/ HID! LOL

HID is standard on all Mini in Canada it's just the launch edition doesn't get the HID.

Yeah I've been to the dealer last weekend the salesperson told me that all Minis after April/May production will have Xenon standard and actually the brochure said so too... she was trying to sell me the launch edition (the first 500 minis) it wasn't a bad deal for around $27000 it includes the sport pkg & chrome bumper inserts but no Xenon... I'm gonna order one with Xenon this weekend hope the wait is not too long... The wait for Cooper S is at least 6 months... I heard Mini USA took out the option of Xenon & sport pkg because of the shortage of supply.. hope it's not gonna affect us Canadians....
