True Confessions from a P900 Addict

After reading this colorful story over on esato I just had to share it here... it's too funny. This guys addiction is worse than Bengalboy's. He was an addict in denial.

It's entitled... And The Award For The Biggest Hypocrite 2003 Goes To ...

Me!!!

After all I said about not buying a P900 I am now sitting with one quietly charging in front of me and it feels pretty damned good.
Those of you who have read my many and varied posts on the subject, sometimes gentle, sometimes vicious and always witty, will know of my great animosity at wasting money on the P900 when I already a P800, which has basically all the features of a P800, except it isn't as shiny.
I will admit it, I am a complete and utter hypocrite, but its not as bad as you think. My P800 did have some tiny scratches on it so it really was time to replace it.
I was standing in the phone shop today looking at their range (my father wanted me to advise him on upgrading his phone, hence the reason for me being in the phone shop in the first place) when my eye suddenly started wandering across the various displays. I questioned myself, "What are you looking for?"
"A P900," I answered myself.
I was a little frightened, what was I doing? I couldn't control myself as I started to scan the shop for any sign of a P900. I had suddenly become convulsed with thoughts of its sexy little contours and cheeky little display. Principles be damned! Scotsboy had to have it! I interrogated sales assistant after sales assistant in shop after shop. Meeting nothing but slack jawed yokels I hung my head in wearied despair and trudged homeward.
A late trip to the local shopping centre and once more my Tochimadaesque questioning began on the hapless sales assistant at the CPW. After forcing a confession from him he scurried into the back and came back with a black box. Throwing my head back and laughing like a musketeer I threw all thoughts of Pandora to one side as I thrust the box open and ransacked the contents, eagerly looking for my prize.
I could feel my hands getting clammy from its wonderous touch, my legs were buckling at the mere site of it. Having scribbled on some pieces of paper and thrown some money at the sales assistant I charged out of the shop like a Hun on crack, barging people out of my way, knocking small children over, banging into an elf (sad what students have to do for money isn't it?) and scattering a man's newspaper, I raced back home to meet my new friend.
As I said, I am a hypocrite, but I'm a hypocrite with a P900 now ...

God forbid should the unit not live up to v's expectations. I can see the arguments now.

So, uh, how long before the scratches ruin the 900?

I'd say it'll conveniently come right around the time the p1000 comes out

speaking of scratches on the screen...does anyone know of a screen protector that works with the p900?

I know some companies are currently making prototypes for the screen....but most won't ship until the end of november.

I would really like a to purchase a screen protector from boxwave....and not have to modify it to fit the screen.

Any suggestions....ie an ipaq or palm that have the same size screen...or close to it?

I just used a Fellows WriteRight Screen Protector that I had for my IPAQ and cut it out...it fits perfect!!

Ha Ha wonder if i will become an addict, like msn isnt using enough of my GPRS already!

sigh...

I had it in my mind that I would steer clear of the SE P900. I already have a functioning P800 so do I really need to get a "facelift and tummy tuck"? I was thinking that if I were to upgrade, the Sharp gx-22 or the nokia 6600 were contenders. Well, they don't sell any sharps here at all, so it was the nokia 6600 until... I found out that the #$%@ thing was only mono! What the heck is nokia thinking?!! You put all the goodies in there and make it mono?

So I was in mobile upgrade limbo... Last night, I was walking through the gadget district and honestly, I wasn't expecting to see any P900 here yet. Then I saw one shop... OMFG!!!! It was like a siren's calling or a geek tractor beam. I found myself involuntarily being pulled to the shop. I asked to see it. I asked to hold it. I asked where it was made. I asked how much it was. Then I asked to turn it on. OMG... the blue soothing lights of the keypad, the brilliant colorful screen.

I was done...

The P900 they were selling was made in France. It costed roughly $841.00.

I never ran back to my house that quickly before.

It sux being a mobile d0rk!

Ah... another poor cellular soul having his lusts brought under the seduction of a Beautiful P900. :laughs:

Thanx for your story it stirs such emotion in us Mobile Geeks!

I don't know what i would do if I see a P900 here in Canada, and I don't wanna know...

Posted by: atypical

stay away from the lights ! Run away from it! And whatever you do, do NOT look directly at the lights !

hmmn... is it weird to have the P900 laying on the pillow next to you? my gf seems to think so... what is wrong with her?!!!

Ha yeah no kidding! Actually I was planning on getting the P900 regardless, but was going to wait for Christmas. But then my gf (of 4 years) and I broke up and I needed something to take my mind off of things sooner! Now I find the P900 is a great way to impress the ladies and none of them seem to mind it in bed at all...

It shouldn't be a problem to use any screen-protector, and just cut it to the size of the P900's screen...

BTW, wonderful story!

Luckily it doesn't have 850 because if it did I would be out $800-900 and have one of these stories to share.

edit: honestly, i do wish it had 850 and i do wish I had the money. lol
