Where do get a Multimedia Master for the SCP-6000?

Based on that, I do believe SCP-6000 does support both picture and ringer "uploads" to the phone.

there's absolutely no multimedia software included in the package. the only thing the CD-Rom installs is software that is needed to provide wireless networking.

You didn't happen to buy the one designed for SCP-4500 or other model, did you? I know they are selling a different kit for SCP-6000.

this is bs. sprint has been sending me on a wild goose chase. i've been calling all these numbers trying to get a solution and all that's been happening is i've been getting transferred from one department to another. at the technical dept. they told me that the wireless web kit software cannot be used to download ringers or pictures. they told me that the multimedia master software had to be purchased separately and gave the number where i could get the software. so i called that number, and i'll bet you'll never guess what happened. they told me that the software is not sold separately. and i kept telling them that it specifies on Spring PCS's website store that the wireless webkit software contains the software needed to download pictures and ringers. this is so frustrating. i'll keep everyone posted if i get anywhere with this.

alright people. here's what you have to do. call 1-888-298-0756 and tell them your problem. what they'll do is, they'll give you a reference number with a note attached saying that your Sanyo 6000 did not come with the multimedia master software. they'll then tell you to go to the nearest Sprint PCS store and ask them in person for the software. if there are any problems, they can look up your account and find the reference number with the note attached giving you the right to that software. you might just want to go to the store and try asking for the software without having to bother with the call. you can also bring your laptop in and ask if you can copy the software right there. hope this helps.

you might as well buy the scp 5000 and then return it after you've loaded the software. i just got back from the store and they didn't have any 5000's in stock. they were idiots about the whole thing and pretty unwilling to cooperate. one girl who worked at the store just kept saying... "The 6000 ISN'T supposed to come with the software." She was a complete idiot. i think sprint should do a recall. this is absolutely ridiculous.

People are simply lazy or what? I went to the SprintPCS store yesterday, asking for the mutlimedia software and the wireless web connection kit. They kept saying no. No software, no hardware, no accessories whatsoever until months after because "the SCP-6000 is a new phone." You are the weakest link, goodbye.

thanks for the very generous offer! can y ou please also send me the Zip file for the Multimedia Master software? These sprint people are extrememly difficult to get answers our of.. and waiting on hold for over an hour each time makes it hard to want to try any harder!

O, and any ppl concering about my soft ware because it's 5000,
I dont know about Sprint Canada's Sanyo SCP 5000 CD
but I got one from Telus which includes both 5000 and 6000 Software. NEWAYz, I am up loading now and it will be up soon~

Download bothof them and unzip only sanyo6000.zip
(that will automatically unzip sanyo6000.z02 as well)
(Some winzip program might not except this kind of files, then try to download other unzipping programs.)

I think have the solution tho.
since the Winzip in your computer dosent support this kind of files,
Use this unzippinmg program (it's really good)
and you will be able to unzip it.

I got the software to install without any errors or warnings, now i need a data cable, but i heard there is a glitch in the software where it is unable to load ringtones and pictures to the onbard memory for uploading, i'm kind of hesitant to try it as i don't want to damage my new phone, after all i just got it in a week ago, if anyone else has any info on this glitch, or is actually able to get the software to work then let us all know.

when I try to unzip the program.. with ALZIP, it says PLEASE INSERT DISCKETE (or FILE) Volume 2. I can unzip other programs, but it wont unzip this one
insert what into what?
Chiodog.. can you send me the files you have.. ? or can someone who can unzip it.. zip the files again with Win Zip or something else?

volume 2 means the second file that you downloaded(which is named sanyo6000.z02)
the Alzip program is looking for that file
so make sure the two files (sanyo6000.zip and sanyo6000.z02) are in same folder and stuff.
it should work

i got the exact same message when i tried to unzip these files on my desktop. i tried the same thing on my laptop and for some reason it worked with no problem. i have no idea why it wouldn't work on my desktop.

I tried it both on my laptop and my desktop.. saved all of the files to my desktop ( c:/windows/desktop) and ran the .exe file from the desktop too.
the program seems to be installed correctly.. I can open other files.. just not the one from the post here.
Chi0udog.. do you think you can unzip the files.. and zip them again with Winzip or something and E mail me the Zipped docs?

i could try. the only problem is... some of the files are scattered all over the place, and i'm not sure if i'll get all of them. i've never zipped anything before. you might want to try running the process again on another computer. although, that's probably not what you want to hear. i'll try zipping the stuff up. or, you might be able to get the files from me directly using Morpheus peer-to-peer.

ok.. get this.. now my phone wont boot up!
it stays on the SCP-6000 screen.
tried plugging it in to the power cord.. took off the battery.. everything... stays on the scp-6000 screen.. then shuts itself off!
I hate SPRINT!.. ATT why dont you get a freaking WIRELESS WEB!

It's just the phone problem. Now, with my changed phone, I cant get it broken... I tried everything..

In order to use those 2 files, you will need to concatenate them using this DOS command:
copy /b sanyo6000.zip + /b sanyo6000.z02 combined.zip /b
After that, you will need to use PKZip (can't use WinZip) to open combined.zip. PKZip will complain that combined.zip is corrupted and will attempt to fix it. The fixed file will be pkfixed.zip.
pkfixed.zip is a good file. Proceed with installation. I have it up and running on my NT box.

Well, I talked about it to ppl.
It's like a gamble, first, restart your computer(tomake sure it's refreshed) and try turn all of your other programs which is running. and just consentrate on downloading ringtones and logos. I think it's the phone problem. My last phone freezed
but My new one dosent. I cant even break it (I tried everything such as disconnecting the cable between translate)
Hmm.. I am not sure what's the problem but leave your hard drive space quite enough.

well.. thanks to the lack of a warning from fellow posters here.. my SCP-6000 is in a box broken.
evidently the software wreaked havok on the internal software, there is no reset button, and there are no replacements for 4-8 weeks. it worked for about 5 downloads.. and then just up'ed and died.. so everyone be careful..
Now I have to use the extra 6000 I had ( and was going to E bay- crap)
I guess if you are just using this phone for fun and can afford to have it not work.. then great.. but if you do business with the phone.. and dont have the time to "try to break it" then I would recommend waiting till sprint PCS issues the discs.

Why did I break the phone sence you broke yours.
No body had same problem with me, And I posted the question about this in here and Nobody knew why I had this problem, even Sanyo People. It looks like I am having fun with BREAKING my good looking phone and take a 50min bus trip to change my phone and get a crap from Network Provider's people, Well.. I dont. I was just mad at Sanyo not having this problem fixed(Not a Wearning sign in their Manual).
Dont blame me, Because I thought it was only my last phone's problem. and you should hav taken responsibility to read over this board and ask to make sure you are doing thing's right. All I did was giving What YOU wanted to have.The SOFTWARE!!!
