how do i set it?
like when my friend call me, how do i set it to make his/her face shown on the external screen????
please help me out~~~~~~~

I have been trying to do the same thing for 2 weeks now, but still can't get it to work. I tried resizing the image to the external screen size 80*60, but when someone calls only the name, number and the stupid icon shows up (and for sure the picture call setting is on).

Can anyone help?

Thanks

if its in the same place as my gx20

options 8-1, click the user, click "options > thumbnail"

if the picture you choose is the correct size 80*60 then this will be displayed as long as icon display is on [options 9-1-3 - "icon display"]

Just remember it takes forever to load the pic up on the external screen. You probably all did it correctly and just not patient enough to wait until the picture actually comes up (it has to be after the stupid icon, person's name etc) ... like 4 rings. By then you most likely have picked up the call or call is about to be diverted. So, this kind of sucks ...

i still haven't got it to work and i don't have voicemail either so it rings forever.. maybe 5-6 times..

i've tried just taking a pic with the cam then saving to phonebook and also, through resizing to 80x60 then saving to 'thumbnail' under the user in phonebook

wut am i doin wrong here

i repeatedly get the flashing icon then the text ..

Ok, the icon will always be there. But if you set it up properly, it'll change to the photo id after flashing a couple times.

Here's the setting to get caller photo ID which I got off some other forum.

1. change time format under date/time, clock setting to 24hr
2. then the display format to time only.

That way, when calls coming thru, the picture id will show both dispaly after about 5 sec.

Btw, picutre does not have to be resized. It will adjust automatically for the outer display.

okay been playing around wiht it bit with the advice u gave me..

try this.. take a pic and resize it for the external screen and save it to phonebook..

when someone calls, it goes text, pic, text, pic, etc... it skips the flashing icon altogther... weird

Posted by: Confused69u

when I use your method using a normal pic and saving it to phonebook.. it will go:

text, icon, text, icon, text, pic id, text, pic id and then the backlight shuts off...

correct?

finally got this **** to work.. i think it really depends if u want your picture call id to be better for the internal or external screen...

i had to change in clock settings:

Time format-> 24 hours
Display format-> Time only (other two don't work for me, but I just chose off for a nice clean screen)

for better internal call id:

better to re-size pic to 80x60 then save it to phonebook..

you will get text, pic call id, text, pic call id, etc.. (no flashing icon) and the internal screen will alternate from the (the thumbnail in the left corner with your income assied picture) screen and the 80x60 pic

for better external call id:

you just take a pic with the phone and save it to bookmark..

you will get text, icon, text, icon, text, call id, text, call id, then backlight off

and the internal screenwill alternate from the (the thumbnail in the left corner with your income assied picture) screen and the FULL sized pic

I need feedback to see if these two assumptions are correct

I just tested it out. U don't need to remove the wallpaper, just turn the clock to 24 hour display. Then it will show the phone # or the name, then it switches to the picture and then back to the phone #/name. Pretty good!!

wut do you mean by removing the wallpaper? i didnt mention anyting about this?

I think that's pretty much it.
But I not quite sure why you had to resize...?
on my phone, it'll just show the entire picture the for internal display, and shink the whole picture to fit the external screen.

When you say resize, is it because the picture would show up too small, that's why you had to adjust it?

Posted by: Confused69u

mine does the say thing as yours..

but i re-sized it because.. it'll cover the full screen w/o those white borders and also.. it won't flash the the animated icon at all..

it'll go text, pic call id, text pic call id, etc...

but the inside will show the tiny thumbnail when it alternates screens

i usually pick up the phone within 1-3 rings so the pic call id would have been useless if i had to wait for it to appear..

O...I see what you mean now....

Acutally, it worked better, cuz you don't have to wait, and usually
you don't look at the internal caller id anyway.

Posted by: Confused69u

exactly.. but the annoying part will be resizing pics to 80x60..

Posted by: palladium

why do you have to change the time format to 24 hours?

Posted by: D_RiDE

No idea why....

But picture id just shows with this setting.

Posted by: Confused69u

probably a firmware glitch.. weird though

My pic id showed up regardless of the time format being 12h or 24h. I used 80x60 sized pics.

Mine does 2, but if it's in 24h with 80x60 format, picture id'll show up right away with out having to wait for it to ring 3-4 times.
