T610 Unlocking Ways / Services in Chicago?

Hi!

Just got a T-mobile 610 and using the service menu, it shows a closed lock in fronth of 'Nework' and the number 15. The rest of the stuff : 'Network subset', 'Service Provider' etc. show open lock with 15 in front of them.

I'm guessing that my phone is locked. I was wondering which of the following methods would work for unlocking my phone:

1. Buying an unlocking cable and code from the internet (eg. www.gsmphonesource.com)

2. Find an unlocking professional in CHICAGO (Can u please suggest someone?)

3. Call T-mobile and request them to unlock. How does this work? Do they unlock it remotely ... or I have to take it to a service center?

Any suggestions would be welcome.
