My I90 is in subsidy lock can someone tell me how to unlock it?

Sounds like you need to do some research... but I'll point you in the right direction.

You'll need a copy of RSS which is compatible with your phones software /codeplug structure to pull the codeplug, so start there first.

Once you've got that, read your phones codeplug and make 2 copies. Name one original, and the other something else.

Then you can either send the one named something else to Gerbil or another gracious person and they can work their magic, or if you're feeling plucky you can read up and do it yourself.

Look for threads concerning unlocking, there should be plenty to choose from in the software area.

Sounds like I need a Serial cable first which will be difficult since I am 300 miles from the closest city where Nextel is available. (Puebla or Leon)

Nope I felt he called me an idiot for not doing RESEARCH so I replied expalining what I did (searched for my issue) I also searched for the software after the link in the post was bad & came up empty. Can you point me to a link & do I have to have a cable & can a dealer fix it? Thanks

There are i90s here in areas hosted by Nextel, Mexico City, Puebla, Leon. It worked sporadically here (before I palyed with it today) lol. Thanks for your time.

I will ask my parents who are coming next month to get me a cable (available at any nextel store the kind you download games with? and also can a dealer fix it?) so I can use it in January when I have to drive my Tundra across the boarder. (every six months)

Thanks again for your time and I was never trying to insult anyone.

p.s. can you point me to the software?

I never called you an idiot, I just told you what you're going to need to do if you want this problem resolved. Now if you stumbled upon another thread in which I was calling someone an idiot that's another story entirely, and a very possible one at that.

Oh, and I'm no Canadian... I'm an American werewolf in beersville.

Anyway, the USB cable will do the job.

As far as the software is concerned, there's a one stop shop for all of your software needs, all neatly organized in one handy place. Go to www.HoFoUFN.com , register for the fourms, and read the first thread in the first forum. That will give you instructions on how to obtain access to the download section. From that point on chances are you'll never have to look elsewhere for iDEN Related software.

I didn't make a big deal out of it but I did feel put down by the RESEARCH jab. No worries I downloaded the program and ordered the cable. My parents will bring it when they come.

As an aside can a dealer fix this? I can't use the damn thing until Nextel is in my city. So it's not much of an issue getting it unlocked before there are here. (my brother in law's best friend is the owner of the franchise that will be here) Nextel has been promising him coverage for a year!

The combined update gave a procedure for dead phones, push both buttons on either side of menu as you power up the phone (after taking out & putting back the battery) I did it & it's out of subsidy lock & back to no service!! Thanks guys!

The super agent says it's looking for irl.dll anyone know how to fix this?

Nextel is here and I am again using my i90! I have a Boost sim coming next thursday so I will have a L.A. # to use when I am in L.A. at the end of the month! You guys rock. Thanks!!
