those with the new P900s, are you using it with the flip on or off?

On. I love the blue keypad lighting

On as well. Only got mine yesterday and haven't removed it at all yet, but the flip is really good looking and does protect the screen well.

I'll probably end up keeping it on.

I’m one that prefers the flip off… I used my P800 this way from the time that I got it. I intended to take the flip off of the P900 as soon as I received it but I’ve fallen in love with this new flip… it’s just to pretty to remove. I really like how it functions too.

FWIW within the last 7 months that I’ve used my P800 flip-less, I found that most people (at first) thought it was a PDA… not a phone. I also came to the realization that there is no real enthusiasm in the public’s eye for PDAs. Though once I began to share the P800 and show others that it was truly a phone and that it could do all that it does, they became interested.

Now that I carry the P900 with the flip on this is no longer the case.

This would have been a go time to post another pic but my server is down... it's been down now for over a week

I agree with vwvwvw above. I took my flip off of the P800 as soon as I got it. But once I got the P900 I looked at the flip and man is it "nice". So now I'm a man with the flip on.

"Long Live The Flip"

Frank

I inteded to take the flip off but just like everyone else, as soon as I got it, I had difficulty taking it off! It's beautiful in the dark with the lighting, and I don't want to have to put my oily fingers on the virtual keypad to dial #'s! I'm in love with this thing, AMAZING. Well work every penny....

I'll be picking mine up on Monday and promptly removing it! It just gets in the way to me.

I totaly sympathise with vwvwvw, I was planing on removing it as soon as I got, as I am a PDA person. However, It really looks nice with the flip and the functionality is very useful, besides, when you are in a hurry to make a call and want the convience of a phone's pad, there is no substitute. At the end of the day, this is highly subjective.

On a seperate note, is there anyway I can answer (or end) a call simply by opening or closing the flip?

Thank you.

flip on!

prevents some the "face smear" in the display.
plus using the t9 for sms is really cool.

Flip on, the keypad is beautifully back lit and responsive, SMS is tops.

Flip ON for me!

1. Prevents smudges/oil from face, fingers, fingerprints (at least on one part of the screen)

2. Prevents scratches (again, at least one part of the screen)

3. Greatly aids in the usage of t9 (not practical with virtual flip seeing that the buttons are so small)

4. Greatly aids in one handed usage

5. The lights look damn cool

6. No more fear of the the actual keypad itself scratching the screen

7. No more fear of the flip actually breaking as the one on the P900 is solid stuff

8. The flip does not add as much bulk to the phone as the P800 flip

9. Overall looks quite handsome with the flip on!

With the P800, it was definitely a flip-off! No question abt it.
But a P900???? Man, I must be crazy to undress this beauty...
I just wanna prolong the foreplay....
Any sexual insinuations......is unintentional.

i would have to say off. although the keypad is a beauty. i cant stand having to pop the flip down all the time. its annoying. i rarely use the flip to do stuff too. it just takes way too long.

when i open/close flip, it makes weird noise...?
Anyone experiencing the same thing?

flip on!

seriously, the P900 with the flip off looks like an outdated bulky PDA! with the flip on, no one would mistake the P900 as a PDA, they'll see it as a mobile phone. Once you pull the flip back, watch the spectators eyes widen! plus, I'd miss those soothing blue lights.

jax826,

ya... I notice that my flip creaks a tad while opening/closing the flip. also, above the MS duo slot, the side creaks as well..... I tried to get a replacement, but no joy.

I'll have to wait till I goto singapore next to get the service center to tighten things up. I hope they'll do that otherwise I'll be P*SSED! BTW, I tested another P900 to see if it creaks above the slot and nope, it was solid as granite.... DAMN my impatience to fully inspect the model!

flip on: my fat little fingers have a hell of a time punching out numbers with the virtual keypad, and using the stylus to do it is kind of hectic and a hassle when on the move (not much of a voice dialler)

atypical~
For me...the slot above the memory slot is very solid, but the annoying tweaking sound from opening/closeing flip really annoy me ><

Anyone experiencing the same?

I may have my keypad modded with a different color. If I do, I'll post the pics.
