8890 conversion kits

are the parts from the kits same quality and design as the parts on a real 8890?

Since I finally got my 8890 mod kit installed and working (only 95% because of the IR misalignment), I'll comment. The backplate is fully aluminum. The slide is aluminum covering plastic. The keypad area and upper housing appears to be aluminum. The centerpiece and antenna cover are plastic. The keys are chromed plastic. As for a comparison with a true 8890, I can't say anything because I don't have that kind of $$$. I really like the kit though.
