Looks good but also looks foreign If I flash this to my phone, will I be able to use english? Or once I flash it it will be in the other language...

Also, if maybe I just got the firmware file from this and used a language file from another firmware would that work? I know the other one is english.

Thanks in Advanced!

yap, i actually flashed that very fw this morning, both english, as well as the chinese lp i have work with it.

So just to make sure, I downloaded the DSv2.zip and I got a DSv2.rel file. its 16 megs (16, 385K). Im going to use this file and the language pack from a A22 firmware I got somewhere. The language filename is "G3D87L94.rel" and its a little over a meg (1,281K). Im going to use those two files in Winmodo and leave the bootsector red and not flash the bootsector.

After this I should have the cool buttons as described on that page, and it should take away all the AT&T stuff and put the Panasonic logos and it should be in english. All look right?

Dont mean to be a pain but I just wanna make sure im doing this right, just dont wanna end up with a phone I cant understand

If it should all work and I end up with another language instead of english, I can just reflash the phone back to my A39NOSOUND and be fine and dandy, right?

Many many many thanks.

Few Things before you Flash though,,,,

You need to get familiar with this process. You cannot flash an A22 language file with an A53 firmware. So if you want the D2 which is built on A53, you need to get a language pack, that is suited for A53.

www.74bird.com/panasonic

You will find it there. You lagnuage will be fine. Every language pack includes english. So it doesnt matter what you use, just make sure it is for A53.

Please read more, becuase it is so easy to loose your phone. You can PM me, if you need files, or more info.

Good luck, after all it is all fun........

you shouldnt even need to re-flash the language pack. and yeah, if you have a53 firmware currently, you dont need to flash the boot either, just the middle one (if other fw, ya gotta do the boot too). and english shouldnt go away at all, ya may have to go in and switch it back to english on the phone but it'll still be there. cheers and goodluck

Thanks alot guys for your reply's. I think im gonna do it now. I got the language file from your site Bence from a A53 firmware (G1D87L61.rel) and then im going to use the DSv2.rel file for the firmware and im going to flash the bootsector like jerksmile said since the A39 software is on there right now.

First im gonna go eat some food, then when I come back im gonna flash it. Im all excited woohoo!

Thanks again guys for all of your help.

Sure, no problem. keep us updated

yeah man, happy flashing!

Sorry for not replying right away guys. After I flashed the phone I just kinda "oo'ed and aww'ed" on it for awhile

The flashing went smooth, everything is okay. Looks good to. The only bad thing is on my phone the messages is in the middle and the camera is on middle-right. I guess the firmware was designed for the camera being center and the messages being middle-right. So you can tell where the buttons are off on the menu. Not that big of a deal but still, a downside.

Thanks alot for you help guys.(Especially jerksmile and Bence8810) Without you I couldnt of done it

hey, i'm glad the flashing went smooth for you! also, the problem you mentioned with the buttons out of order, can be fixed with cb2000 (downloaded for free here: http://www.hoax-design.com/gd87/) just cover pins 4/10 again and click "handset power" then at the top, "data" and "read phone" and then under "mobile varient" you can change the order of the buttons.

it can be a tricky program to use... also, as you're using it, if you dont know what it means, it's best to leave it the hell alone. i've scared myself more than once by clicking somehing in the program that sounds like it could be good and then something is drastically different on the phone... hehe but anyway, glad to be of service! cheers

Oh, very nice! Thanks man, Ill have to try that.

And yeah, all those buttons and boxes intimidate the hell out of me. Im just waiting to hit something like "click here" and then see a message "Congratulations, Your phone has been completely destroyed... Have a nice day!" lol Unless I read somebody saying they did it and got good results, I try not to mess with CB2000 alot. All I can say is I feel your pain

And up... I have a quick question... Do you know what would happen if I change the volume? Like in the main window I see Ear volume and stuff like that. Can I maybe adjust one of those and get louder ringtones? I was gonna play with it but I didnt know what would the outcome be (possibly blow one of the speakers out?) so I figured its always best to ask.

Thanks again.
