Thanks. I guess that will mean that the card will be quicker than the one that came with the phone.

Sorry to say, no it won't. You have to format the ms as a regular ms so it's not any faster, just more $$

What do you mean by format it. I can't just plug it in and use it? It's not really more expensive. I paid $118 CAD including tax.

You have to format the MS stick via the phone, takes only a couple of minutes if that

The p800/900 does not offer the benefits the magic gate is made for. Security and speed but works fine for regular p800/900 use

Well I just put it in and transferred some stuff from the internal memory to the MS and it worked fine. There was no formatting involved.

A lot of people still don't seem to know what can and can't be used in a Px00, so here it is, plain and simple:

In summary - all you need is a MS Duo that is NOT Pro. Anything else currently available will work. Newer dark blue sticks may be slightly faster, but I wouldn't pay a premium for them.

Now that's what I call an answer. Great job.

BTW, the MSD MG that I picked up today from the Sony store was the dark blue one that claims to be much faster than the current MS's. But like Simion_Levi said it probably depends on the device using them that will determine if they will be faster.

Thanks again.

Just pulled out my 128MB dark blue High Speed Duo for another look - mine is indeed Magicgate too. I pulled it out the packaging and had it in my P900 so fast that i didn't even see that!

So the darkblue ones are actually replacements (or at least the newer version of, if they still intend to ship white MS MG Duos) for the white ones, it would appear. Thanks for noting that, carsmovies!!

Probably a lot of $$$. I know I would have bought at least a 256MB and probably a 512MB, regardless of the cost for my P800 if it worked.

As I've said in another thread regarding this, the Px00 could be a NICE replacement for mp3 players like the iPod if the capacity were there.

If one were to use OggVorbis files and the Px00 OggPlayer (which provide same quality as mp3 at approx. half the size), then a 512MB memory stick would hold the equivalent of 1GB of mp3s in OGG format.

Although these capacaties are not even close to the original 5GB iPod, I'd still consider leaving it at home in lieu of the phone I already carry around anyway.

I have come across a minor problem. I just bought a 128mb Sony duo card and i transferred a movie without any problems, but then i put the card in the card reader and it says "the disk is not formatted" i tried it on my laptop and its giving the same answer.

Anyways i formatted the disk on the p900 and i thought it may solve the problem, but it didnt.

What shall i do?? Please help, ive been waiting ages for this mem card
