P900 First Impressions

I sold my P800 on the HoFo marketplace and gave myself an early Holiday present, a P900. Here are my first impressions on my first day of use, more or less in order of importance:

1. Display - This was my primary reason for buying it. As I mentioned in another thread, the consequence of otherwise successful lasix surgery is I need reading glasses to read small print, or the P800 screen. I can read the P900 screen easily. This makes a huge difference for me. Not sure this is such a big deal if you have good reading vision though; I have no basis of comparison.

2. Keypad - Big improvement over the P800. Solid and easy to see with the blue light.

3. RF - Maybe my imagination, but seems better than P800, which wasn't bad though.

4. Size - It is definitely smaller The larger size of the P800 never bothered me, but smaller is better.

5. Bluetooth - No problem so far, pairing and using my HBH-60.

6. Application Performance - P900 seems a bit faster, but again, the P800 was not bad in this category.

7. Setup - Easy learning curve if you've had a P800. Almost everything is in the same place, done the same. I used the SE WAP and MMS configurator - worked like a champ.

Anyway, I'm very happy with my new toy. Of course, when the P1000 comes along ....

Thanks Frank. These gadgets, in addition to being fun, really have improved the quality of my life. I now have my PIM and my phone on one device. That had been my Holy Grail for some time.

The price of these hi-tech gadgets, in addition to, of course, price, is the learning curve. That is where this forum and members such as BengalBoy, 3VW, his son SSODR, you, ducsurfer and many others has been so helpful to me.

Tomorrow is Turkey Day, where I can show off my new toy

Take care. Jeff
