I have a Sony Digital8 Camcorder that takes a memory stick, and I have the following question about the memory stick DUO:
I want to kill 2 birds with 1 stone, I want to get a 256mb mem stick so I can use it with both, my digital camcorder AND my future p8/900. So will a memory stick DUO work in a camcorder with a regular memory stick slot? (meaning if I put the DUO in the adapter, and place it in the camcorder, will it work?)
That will save me some $ by getting a mem stick to work with both.

Yes it will work in the camcorder but a 256mb msd card will not work in the P800/900. Largest currently is the 128mb.

Word of caution for all you people wanting to use a single Duo in both a camera/camcorder & a Px00 (seen a few threads on this, 5mp camera etc):
I know that some sony image devices have a different filesystem to that used in the Px00. I think that this is actually ALL sony image devices, but couldn't comment in any certainty.
Basically, you use the MS Duo in one device, then try and read it in the other - it won't be recognised. The Px00 has to have the Duo split into MSSEMC-->P-series-->media files (& system branch) --->audio/image/video/document/other ... etc. (put your Duo in a card reader, and you'll see.)
When taking pictures with a Px00, it HAS to record the files to the image directory, or some sub-directory of that. You can move them after the fact, but files have to actually be recorded into the correct directory. If you then put that Duo into a (or at least some models of) sony camera, you'll need to format the Duo, as it requires a more simple filesystem of, say, camera-->images. Doing it the other way round, camera first then px00 - again, don't think the Px00 will recognise the duo until you format it back to it's own filesystem.
This was certainly the case for people with a P800 and a Sony image device - I wouldn't know if very recent image devices have got around the directory problem by accepting the Px00's system, but I wouldn't count on it. Similarly, people with Sony mp3 players or Sony TV's with MS/MS Duo slots could not get files recognised on those devices unless formatted in the right filesystem. Only workaround was to use a PC card reader to copy files over before reformatting the duo everytime.
