Anyone have a Motorola C370 yet?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I was just wondering how it compares performance-wise for battery and RF. I just ordered mine and I'm sure its much better than the C333. Now, all I need to do is unlock my Fido V60i.

wow... c370??? gotta take a look at that

if you need your v60 unlocked... send me a pm... i'll help you generate the code for cheap

According to the Rogers customer reps, its supposed to have improved battery life and RF over the C333 (not very hard there) and the C350.

As for the unlocking, I'll definitely keep that in mind. Thx.

Shoot! I just realized I posted in the wrong forum. Hmmm, I think I was reading some mod posts before create this thread. Sorry folks.

I think the Rogers site has the wrong battery info for the C370. According to Motorola's site and a few other places, its has a 750 mAh battery and not 600 mAh.....unless Rogers got it with a cheaper battery. That would suck. Its like Fido, their V60i gets the big 800mAh instead of Rogers 500mAh.

BTW gq_fuzion, I had my Nokia 8390 (Fido) unlocked (or flashed) to work on Rogers. I had done it at the Rogers store and the problem I had was I couldn't browse the internet. If I put my sim in my C333, no problems. Ticked me off. That's why I have some reservations about unlocking the V60i. I tried my Rogers sim in it and it asked for a subsidy password. I imagine that's what it removes? I'd hate to try it and some options not work.

Posted by: gq_fuzion

i'm sorry to say that the browser on your 8390 is still locked
the unlock codes will only open sim locks... to unlock a nokia browser, i'm not sure but a full factory reset may work... if not, bongowireless does it...
if you want, i can try doing a full factory reset on your 8390 as i have the cable

for your v60i, the subsidy code will also only open simlock... to unlock the browser, a datacable and software is needed... software is expensive though... but once i get my moto cables, i may be able to help you out

if you want to remove the simlock from your phone, just pm me

Actually....the 8390 was unlocked and I was using it for Rogers. However, it recently died on me and the V60i was its replacement by Future Shop...since Fido no longer sells the 8390. Its too bad they couldn't exchange for a new Rogers phone. Now I have this nice V60i and can't use it. I wanted to cancel Rogers and go back to Fido but then they offered me a choice of 6 phones. How can I refuse? So I ordered the C370. Plus, I called Motorola and they just sent me a replacement for my C333....damn, 3 new phones in one week.

If I unlock the V60i, I want to do it right....that means unlock everything. Personally I was hoping to buy the SE T616 but the money they are asking is a little crazy IMO.

Posted by: gq_fuzion

oh... well, there's actually no way to do it all together
browser unlocking is typically pretty expensive
i think its about $50 for browser and $40-$50 for sim
i should be getting my cables soon
when i do, i can probably help you unlock the browser as well, but thing is, gotta have the phone
no way to unlock the browser remotely

Posted by: Crimson66

Well the $80-100 can be worthwhile if the phone is. I know in general the V60i has a great reputation for RF and sound performance. It sure beats spending $500+. Mind you the Treo 600 is catching my eye. I guess if I can get the data cable for uploading numbers, contacts, etc then it may be worthwhile no?

Posted by: gq_fuzion

well... the software to unlock motorola's is actually quite costly (www.victorgsm.com)
hehehehe... $600usd isn't quite worth it if you ask me

Posted by: 7-endless

Is there any way to remotely unlock the browser at all or is VicGSM the only option?

Posted by: gq_fuzion

victor gsm is the only way
when we recieve the codes back, all we get is the subsidy code

Posted by: Crimson66

Hmmm, so I heard Fido can be paid to fully unlock their phones at a high $200. I assume that's a full unlock then, since my Rogers unlock was $50 for my 8390. At least this route would be cheaper than going the full cable software at $600. Then again, instead of spending $200 for all this I might as well sell the phone at that price.....plus my others. I just don't want to bother...plus I like this V60i. Damn.....decisions decisions.

Posted by: gq_fuzion

lol
you got lucky with rogers
rogers and fido both charge $250 for unlocking
it would be fully unlocked... browser and sim
i would just go with outside unlocking...
like for sim, $20usd... about $25cad
then $50 at bongo to unlock browser

and then your phone is worth more as well

With some unlock codes, I noticed that there are actually two (ie. Mr. Spear)...are the two unlock codes strictly for the subsidy code?

Posted by: gq_fuzion

the other code is called a one time code
don't know what thats for though

Posted by: Crimson66

I guess what I could do is unlock it for now and the later unlock the browser later. I'll just have to carry one of my extra phones in case. Is there anything else that nees to be unlocked?

Posted by: gq_fuzion

nope... thats it
just msn/e-mail me at fuzi0n24@hotmail.com if you want codes
codes retrieved within 2 hours of recieving your imei number and payment
