Go back to them and try to get off their list. That would be best. If that does not work contact you service provider and get your number changed. There will definatley be a fee for that, but that fee is much smaller than the early cancellation fee that your provider will charge.
DO NOT CANCEL your service unless you are no longer under contract!!! try to get off the mailing list that is bothering you. Are you getting emails, text messages, or actual phonecalls from the annoying spammers???
If you are getting phone calls, You may be able to tell your phone not the ring when they call. My nokia allows me to ignore certain numbers try these options.

If they were waking me at 4am with their crap I would take action against them not myself.

First of all, if you need helps, help me help you. Who is your service provider?

Second of all, call your service provider up, tell them you are getting harrassing phone calls to this number. BTW, how long has this happening? Normally, service provider can change your phone number for free (or $15 in Verizon's case).

If you do not want to change your cell phone number, registry your number to the DNC (Do Not Call) list, but you need to wait a few months for that comes into effect, if that will work at all.

Finally, whenever you get such phone call, pretend you are interested, ask for the name, company, phone number and address if possible, then hang up while "the transaction is about to close". I know, it is a waste of time but that will very frastruted those people.
