Anyone got any info about unbranded GX22???

I am about to pick up one but then the dealer told me that it will be unbranded vs smartone branded...

Does it exist and if so what are the spec???
any difference between unbranded and the smartone branded???

please help!

For you information...
There are Unbranded GX-22s out there, OEM from SHARP with the 262k colour screen.
Price should generally be the same as the SmarTone version, but you guys can confirm that with your dealers.

i wouldn't mind you doubt that... as I personally haven't seen the unbranded ones yet either... but I am just sharing information from what I've got...

everything is driven by market demand... it is not "impossible" for Sharp to sell OEM items...

Simple... will you want someone to post your personal cell # up on a public forum like this??? He's a phone dealer, but not a supporting vendor on HOFO... There are rules and regulartions on HOFO... I just don't think it's legit to post his phone # here... so I chose to PM everyone who asked for it nicely.

and buying it or not is your personal decision... I've no affliction with that particular dealer... I am only a customer...

I don't believe it because I heard that Sharp has contracts with service providers which don't allow it to sell OEM Versions...

And, BTW, if it's a small dealer without website, I really think he isn't telling the truth...

But if someone of you would get a OEM version (which I don't believe) and posts pics here, I would be convinced!

yup.. sharp has specifc contracts with serivce provider to sell only oem phone to these providers, as the software is designed for each. an oem public market would cost $ and other resources to support... why whould sharp want to deal with selling oem phones to public and all the hassle that comes with that (from logistics to marketing)... sharp even has a contract with audiovox to allow them to use/redesign the gx22 for cdma market.. many manufactures have specific contracts for certain models of phones.. maybe it's ture and sharp is trying to expand their gsm market by using the gx22???... but untill i see the pics of an unbranded gx22 in use, then i doubt it...

...wasn't there another thread about someone saying they were getting an unranded gx20/22... and they ended up getting a branded one... lol..

Personally, I don't think it's a big deal 2. But if I had a choice, I would probably take the unbranded one. Just like I choose to get the GX22 over the GX20, but there aren't that much difference between both phones. I guess it's just personal preference, that's all.

And I assume that's why so many people are inquirying about it since some of them are planning to get one in the near future.

i'd say if ppl can get a hold or make of some "sharp" brand stickers, just stick them over your provider logo to make it look oem
