I just signed up for Rogers totalphone package, which comes with a Motorola phone that I totally hate.

I am looking to use my old Fido 7190 on the Rogers AT&T network.

Couple Questions:

1) In my case, to use the phone on a different provider, do I need to get my phone "Unlocked"?

2) When Fido sold me the 7190, they included a data cable that allows me to connect to a pc. - Can I use this to unlock my phone?

3) If 2 is Yes, where do I find/buy the software to unlock my 7190 - it seems everywhere I look, they just sell the CABLE.

4) Has anyone ever done this - get a fido to work on rogers?
