I was just wondering if the GD88 can be modded so the green led lights under the keypad can be replaced with blue or white leds (I really don't like the green).
If so, would there be any place in the GTA that could do this? (i.e. Pacific Mall)

yes it can be changed just like nokia phones, same principal involved. Could just purchase some LEDs locally or on ebay and get any old electrician (who's good at soldering) to do it.

As of right now, there are no pre-built keypads with custom LEDs on eBay. Could be somewhere but most likely if these kind of things are on eBay then they probably don't exist yet. So the best way to purchase a cheap light up battery for a nokia phone or whatever, desolder the diodes on that and resolder those diodes on your existing GD88.

what you really need is really, flashing nokia battary lights, or the keypad lights where the whole housing lights up. Unsolder those off carefull same with the green ones of the GX8X, and solder it back. Becareful while soldering, and unsoldering. The most difficult to find as of now which makes that conversion take long, is to find a tri-wing screwdriver. The Gameboy advance uses the same tri wing screws. So go around town and check it out. I advise go to a compusmart center and ask the service desk if you can get one off them.
