Contact Sync software and 5500

I have the old Sprint Contact Sync software. I was able to get it to work with the 5300 and the 8100 by using the 4900 dll and modifying the ini file. Has anyone been able to get it to work with the 5400 or 5500?

I had the old one - and not wanting to mess with ini files - I got the new software - and after an update from FutureDial's site it all worked just fine.

Thanks for the reply.

I just moved up to the 5500 from an ancient thing that resembled a brick with a keypad.

Then I ran right out and bought SnapSync and the cable on the recommendation of the Sprint Store guy, who said I'd be able to import all my phone numbers by saving them (from Act!, and from my Palm) as comma-delimited text files, and bringing them into SnapSync.

So I get home with this stuff, looking forward to painlessly importing a few hundred contacts, and it appears (based on the FutureDial web site FAQ) that:
a) It doesn't support the 5500 (yet?).
b) I can't import from *anything* except Outlook. Nevermind that the packaging says "Don't have MS Outlook? No problem!"

I e-mailed FutureDial this morning, but no reply.

The post here from outbound2k is encouraging... Were you able to use SnapSync with a 5500?

Does anyone know if there is a way to import records into SnapSync, other than using Outlook? (Their site actually suggests that you import them into Outlook, so SnapSync can read them.)

Thanks for any info. This forum has been a real help.

Update! I see the 5500 on the SnapSync site now - it's at the very bottom of the list, as a VM4500. So that takes care of part a) of my question...

You didn't say what kind of phone you had. I was able to transfer all my numbers from my old samsung 8500 to my 5500. Also a sprint superstore has the ability to transfer numbers from some old phones too.

I have the SCP-5500. Qwalls asked if anyone was able to transfer numbers to it, and outbound2k said the FutureDial software worked for it. I finally found that driver on their site, under VM4500.

Now my problem is that I can't install SnapSync until I download the USB driver, and I can't get the USB driver until I'm registered, and it won't let me register until I've installed an update to fix a registration bug, which I can't install 'cause I can't install the program 'cause I can't get the USB driver.

No luck getting any info via their tech-support e-mail yet.

So... Assuming that one day I will somehow be able to install and run SnapSync, my remaining question was:

Is there any way to import records (say, via a comma-delimited text file) into SnapSync? Or am I going to have to re-type a few hundred of them just for fun one weekend?

For that matter, if anyone knows of any *other* way (another program? web interface?) to get contacts into the phone, it'd make my day to hear about it.

i just bought the software and it wont let me register saying that key was already used to send an activation to my email address but i never got an activation and my key wont let me download updates either. anyone else have problems like this?

Posted by: INTELLER2

what's the key? why i ask is because there is a kegenerator and someone may have generated your key.

Posted by: Kane3030

i'd rather not post my key on here or send it to somone and besides, how would me sending you the key help me?

Posted by: INTELLER2

call futuredial and explain the situation to them, the will probably ask for proof of purchase and issue a new key.

i called and they gave me a new code, very nice people and all works great now.
