I'm trying to use the Handset Manager software that came with the phone. I can get the phone to make a connection to the computer but when I start the program I get a warning which says

'To ensure succesful communication between the handset and Handset Manager, please: Disable Cell Broadcast Message reception on the handset.'

How do I do that?????????

You can actually ignore that message. My phone always has the Cell broadcast on and it has no problem in communicating with my PC.

But if you really want to disable it, here is the step.

Main Menu -> Messaging -> Broadcasts -> Receive -> Off.

well that's interesting...

i have a uk x70 and it has no selection for 'broadcasts' anywhere in any menu, and definitely not in the 'messaging' section. although there is a suspicious gap in 'messaging' in the top right corner. is that where it usually lives?

It's nothing, just set the IrDA speed to 57600 Kb/sec. I had the same problem, did that & now it connects perfectly
