Just checked todays features for the 8600, verizon customer, using "get it now" and was pleased to see that i can now add pics.
Pretty easy to use, goto dotphoto.com to setup the free account. I tested out the picture capabilitys and am pretty impressed. I imported my 1024x768 wallpaper on my PC to the dotphoto web site and it came out looking great on the phone. Now the downsides: Cost five dollars extra a month and does not seem to support downloading to the wallpaper/screensaver portion of the phone. I hope this is of some use to you guys and gals.

P.S. My version of pictavision is 2.13

I am a verizon customer with the vox 8600 and I do not see this option on G.I.N. yet. I am in the Michigan/Ohio area, dont know if our app servers are the same. It'll be pretty cool when I get it, but I dont know about an extra 5 bux a month.. Thats beer money!

Hmm, i got it real early this morning, around 1 am... night shift
I guess they took it back off the network since i cant seem to upgrade it either, maybe they are adding the screensaver/wallpaper functions? Im going to use it for a month and stock pile it with as many pics as i can, the phone can hold more than 1 wallpaper/screensaver combo right? Also their are no limits as to how many pics you d/l a month, don't get any ideas verizon

Anyone have any updates for this thread? I suscribed to the app and downloaded some pics, but as stated above you cannot set them as wallpaper...I tried to see if there has been an update to pictavision and now it doesn't even show up under GIN....

Pictavision is now available on GIN for me. Played with it and realized its not worth anything. You can view photos on the phone. Big deal. You can't add them as wallpaper, you can't set them up as caller-id displays, you cant turn them into screensavers. Everyone I know who has a cell phone also has email. I'd rather send them a 1024x768 picture they can view on their 17+ inc monitor then show them something on my 3 inch lcd screen. The price paid for the software atop the hassle of setting up my dotphoto account was way too much investment for the results it yeilded. Buyer beware. It left me feeling a little...

Yeah I got the same feeling now. On the dotphoto website you can only upload jpg or jpeg files. I'm pretty sure I read that it has to png to work as wallpaper...oh well $3.99 down the tube

Interesting, i read on their website that it can convert the 8500 phone to wallpaper. Wonder if its just a matter of an update? Hurry up verizon and fix this already!

Yeah,
What a stupid app in the first place. You upload pictures that you already have to a website just so you can view them on your tiny phone screen. I really don't need to pay that much for the hassle.

I like to add my own pictures to my own cell phone than to use the ones that come with the app. I just wish that they would have added all the features before releasing. What version of this software does everyone have?
