thanks for your help though..

Yeah, sorry about that...hehe...the total size of the LCD is 101x80...usable desktop size is 101x44...^_^

so theres nothing i can do about it?

You might need to edit the graphic with your graphic program...maybe the graphics you've downloaded might not be made specifically for the SL5x phones...

Is SL55 wallpaper size different from SL56? I could fit a wallpaper of 101x80 on my SL56 without any cropping or squishing. The bottom and top parts are partially hidden behind the function keys, signal, battery indicators, but it is there in the background.

Are you using your graphic as background or logo? I think logo size maybe smaller. I did not use the Siemens data suite. I just use a picture editing program to change my picture to 101x80 and send myself a mms with the file attached.

Are you able to send yourself an MMS with your computer without being charged to receive it?

I have to wait until the bill comes to see if I get charged or not. I signed up for unlimited MMS for $2.99 for 90 days thing. I don't know if that's only limited to phone to phone MMS or any MMS. When I went online to access my account, I only see Voice, SMS, and GRPS usages, I don't see anywhere telling me how many MMS I received or sent. I am getting the IRDA usb adpater, so I will be able to try sending pic directly from PC to phone.

hmm interesting. i'm also getting that adaptor. i just dont send messages enough for a plan to be worth it, but online it says mms are free from att wireless users. i can't find anywhere on the website to send mms though, only sms.

Not sure about AT&T but for Cingular there is no MMS sending option on Cingular website either. I sent regular email from my hotmail account to phone#@mms.mycingular.com and attach the picture as regular email attachment.

It is interesting that I cannot find the mms email address information anywhere on Cingular website. I only found out about it by reading the Cingular forum here on HowardForum. HF rules!

I will go do a search on AT&T forum to see if I come up with anything. My sister has AT&T so maybe I can send her some MMS for fun.

From the email FAQ on AT&T wireless site, it seems that AT&T does not allow mmode phone to receive any picture or ringtone attachment via email. They can accept MMS with picture or ringtone but only from another MMS mobile device. I guess if I want to send a picture to my sister, I have to first email it to my Cingular phone and then MMS to her AT&T phone.

that's too bad, thanks for the info though.

please post link to siemens data suite version with ability to mod ringtones wallpaper contacts etc... I DO NOT want to synch with outlook which it appears is the only option that comes standard now with the SL56
