Anyone know any info on 5500 firmware?

just woundering if anyone knows of any firmware coming out for the 5500 to fix the things like...

1) fitting the full number on the outter screen.
2) changing the tone of the RL.
3) an alert for RL.
4) time and date for changed screen savers/background.
5) making the speaker full duplex.

its just the small things that would make this phone the best ever....

or does anyone know if firmware would make those changes...

Answers to your questions

1) This is only an issue if the person calling you is not in your phone book. If they are in your phone book, then when that person calls you the numbers shows up on 2 lines. There is a possibility that a fix to this could be included in a future software upgrade.

2 & 3) Don't hold you breath, I dont see this happening anytime in the not to distant future.

4) This is not the first phone to have this issue 3 Sanyo phones previous also have this issue and Sprint has chosen not to do anything about this so far, I don't look for things to change anytime in the near furture.

5) Maybe someday on another phone, but this will never happen on the 5400, 5500, 7200 AKA RL 2000, RL 2500, VM4500.

Are you sure this is true? Haven't tried it on the 5500 yet, but on the 5400, even if the caller is in the phone book, the 5400 scrolls the number - it is not on two lines. Very annoying.

yeah i know even with the 5500, with the id it still scrolls...ahh but that is aiite as long as i can see the id...

Well on mine if the person is in the phone book is shows it on 2 lines, so I just assumed it would be like that on all 5500's.

Interesting. What version of firmware is on your phone?

I just put the public release version on my phone 1.008SP. I am pretty sure that this is the only software version that ever got out to the general public, if you have a different version, PM me the version so I can send it to a friend of mine that works at Sprint HQ in Kansas.

It appears that you have the same software version as me ... have someone form you phone book call you and make sure it is not showing up on 2 lines then PM me back with the results

Well, I just tested ... with a caller in my contact list, incoming call display on the outside LCD did NOT show the incoming phone number on two lines, but scrolled.
