This just in, Here are some official photos of the 2005 Ford Focus. The new Focus gets a face lift, a re-styled back end and a new interior.

Here are the high-Res versions of the pictures:

I personally, like the new front end, the headlights look an awfull lot like the mondeo's headlights, and the bumper looks similar to the 2002 and up european version. What do you guys think?

These pictures are courtesy of www.FocusCanada.net, and www.ofoc.ca

Interior is nice.

Exterior is nic-ER than before...

I'd consider it if I didn't hate fords.

Edit: Anyone else thinks it looks a little like a jetta

i think it looks a lot like a new corolla

Pretty nice.

The interior is certainly better than the current model ( at least looks that way )

The 3rd pic looks a lot like the previous gen of Honda Odyssey.

What model is that thougt ? I really like that one.

BTW, what's the relationship between the Focus and Mazda3... if any ?

Posted by: Paolo

The 3rd picture is the Focus C-Max concept, it is basically built on a different platform. Unfortunately we wont be getting this model, but europe will.

Ford is the Majority shareholder in Mazda. Also, the Mazda 3 and the new focus will share engines. The focus will be using the 2.0 Duratec as well as the 2.3L Duratec, better known as the PZEV (Particle Zero Emissions Value, which this engine already exists in Mazda's Lineup.

it looks ok...

though i hate those black plastic door protector and door handles, why cant they color match it w/ the car itself... especially in bmw's 3 series sedan, those black plastic moulding looks so out of place...

and 1 thing i cant stand w/ american cars, why are the turn signal not separate orange lights and instead flashes their red brake light... makes it so confusing... now, even honda/acura/toyota began to follow this trend.... it should be made illegal to have cars w/o orange turn signals... for example, the civic in north america dont have orange turn signal but the one in HK does... if the one in HK does, why does honda america change it to red...

satoshi, I agree with you 100%. For your information, a few fellow Focus owners, also dislike the fact that their focus sedan doesnt have seperate amber turn signals in the rear tail lamp clusters. I know a few people, have purchased the european focus's version of the tail lights, and have installed them onto their car here. I must say, they make the car look a lot classier. It looks like they should have came that way from the factory. I guess manufactures are figuring out as many ways as they can to cut corners, making an all red lens is probaly one of them.

Also, I believe ford has finally minimized the ammount of black textured plastic trim on the focus to an all time minimum. I noticed the door handles, door mouldings, mirrors, and even the trunk strip, are all painted bodycolour, finally!!

I couldn't agree more. And I don't get why cars in North American spec. don't ever have clear corners for the headlights...

shouldn't clear corners be cheaper to manufacture as opposed to seperately molding out another orange piece?

I am not huge fan of those turning signals and it's weird that that more Japanese cars are equipped with all red tail-lights

ie. Honda Odyssey ( certain ones ), Acura EL, Civics and possibly nwe TL ?

What gives ?!

it sorta looks like a jetta, like corp. dan said

that 4-door hatch looks like a vw minibus and
old four-door honda odyssey combine

its looks decent at best.

it is still a Focus.

Posted by: Paolo

I dunno about looking like a Jetta though, I just dont see an MK4 Jetta, Neither has anyone on any of the focus message boards commented about it looking like the jetta. But I do see a Mondeo when I look at it.
Have a look:

US spec Ford Focus:

Ford Mondeo (Europe only):

i think it looks a tiny bit better but it still looks like the old focus

the interior is still fugly and i never liked those center mounted antenae thingys...

i like how civics dont have an external antenna...and radio reception works well too...

cars that don't have external antenna have the antenna imprinted on the rear winshield... but i guess root mounted antenna like the ones in jetta and corolla looks not bad, though i hate the old style of antenna when it's mounted on the roof of the driver side, and you have to physically pull it out...
