I am in cellular limbo my friends. A quick rundown.. I joined T-Mobile, got a free Samsung R225 which was fine until the mic stopped working 7 months later... then I used my friends old Ericsson T28 World. I was waiting for my contract to be up so I could upgrade to the Ericsson T300. About 3 days before I was allowed to upgrade T-Mobile dropped the T300. Bitter and not seeing a good alternative phone I turned towards ebay. I got the T300 with camera for less then $90 (us) and thought I had a great deal, until I got the phone and discovered that the volume switch on the side didn't work. No one would fix it or take it back, so I decided to deal with it. Ironically, a few days after the increased solar activity from the sun my phone stopped recieving calls in my house or from the house. I've always had a crappy signal here cause of the powerlines, but I could at least get calls, but no more. I tried the SIM in my T28W, same problem. Finally I tried it back in the R225 and I was able to get about 95% of my calls (doing test calls from the landline) whereas the T300 was about 2%.
So now I'm thinking, screw Ericsson, I'm getting a new Samsung. I'm thinking either the E105 or the E715.
I don't know if my problem is RF or what. Like I'll have 3 out of 5 bars of signal on the Ericsson and STILL not recieve calls. Once I can get a call in or out, it sounds alright... so my problem is whatever signal the GSM phone uses to start a call.
Am I silly for blaiming the brand? Will these other Samsung's compare to the signal of the R225?
Hopefully someone can shed some light on this for me... I've see lots of "well this phone works great in my cave while those doesn't" arguements and I realize that its 85% relative to where you live and what kind of phone you have.
Advice, please...
