Annoying X70 Camera Problem!

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Hi People,

I am new to here, so I thought I would say hi to every1 first.

I am not sure if anyone has this problem, but lets c. When the light conditions drop, I get blue annyoying dots all over the screen, plus a line of pixels about the third of way in on the right hand side of the screen.

So when I take a picture I get a line down the image. Does anyone else experience this problem, because I have rang Panasonic, and it is due to go in, but wondered if every1 gets this problem?

Thanks Every1

It happens in all x70, I would sadly say. Besides this, I love every aspect of my phone.

Yes, I can confirm this behaviour on two x70's

Hi Jon & Canox,

Thanks for your replies. Do you even get the line on the right hand side of the screen?

I can get over the blue dots, but that line when I take pictures is so annoying!

Hi

Yes, I get the blue line sometimes. It can be usually be corrected by exiting camera mode then going back in !!

i don't get a blue line, but i do get the blue dots in anything but bright clear daylight. they're pretty annoying.

I heard that you can fix this by turning twilight mode on. Try and give comment

Posted by: nigelspowage

twilight mode helps reduce the blue dots, but it seems to do this by changing the brightness and pallet a bit.

it generally makes pictures seem to be tinted with a shade of orange. it does make the picture look clearer overall though.

It is a common problem on x70. by turning the twilight mode on does help to get rid of the blue lines a little. Also, switching picture effect to monochrome fixes the problem as well, if you like black and white pictures. Any more questions, feel free to e-mail me: djgene@comcast.net

Hi,

Yeah I agree, by switching twlight on it does reduce the pixels, the only problem then, is that the picture is really slow. But I am sending mine back to Panasonic, because the line down the screen is really deep, and its pretty much always there.

Had my X70 a month now, used the camera lots, never had this problem.

You dont have the problem? so unfair!

Can you post some pics taken with your x70 in low light?

It does that for me too for some reason .. I have a GD88 before and it had a similar problem as well .. I don't really care about that , it's pretty fine to me though.

Hope some-one can translate that into English for me! It's an Orange UK phone - Orange do strange and nasty things to their phones, including making them more dificult to unlock than other companies.

Doubt any of that would have an effect on the camera, though, and I've seen complaints from other people on Orange.

it's a common thing with cheap digital camera's in low light situation. heck mine gu87 does the same thing as yours, and so does my wife's gu87. you wanna get rid of the line? take a picture in a nice brightly lite area.

Posted by: Photon

i also have not much of a clue what any of it means, but mine is identical right down to the last page, which on mine is th_x70rel_x1.0.1

does anybody know what this means?

just thought i'd add my findings here as well...........i've had my x70 for about a month, i got it after seeing how impressive my mates gd87 was, but the x70 being a newer(and you would assume, improved) model i went for that one. Big mistake......in a direct comparison with his gd87, in low-ish light conditions, his pics are miles clearer than mine, the twighlight effect and photo light do litle to compensate. I am seriously considering downgrading to a gd87.................any comments??
