Audiovox 8600 Inconsistant Ringer Problem

I just got the 8600 and it rings differently depending on the following factors from the best that i can determine.

The 2 different ringtones are:

A: *whatever i select my ringer to be*

B: A Ringtone that sounds the most like a ringing cellphone (kinda chirpy) however i cant find this ringer anywhere on the phone.
(its NOT the "Roaming Ringer", but sounds similar)

The Factors that I have determined to Chnge the Ringer:

Ringer A (whatever i select):
From a number that is not in my phonebook OR a number that i entered maually in my phonebook w/ no custom ringer assigned(some numbers were transfered by verizon from my MOT t720)

Ringer B (ringing cell phoneish ringer):
From a recognized person/number that was transfered from my t720 w/ no custom ringer assigned

my aswering machine is off and voice alert is too.

basically in a nutshell the numbers tranfered to my phone from the t720 seem to use a ringer that i can find anywhere on the phone.

anybody have this same prob. or hear diff ringers for numbers transfered from a diff phone?

Someone else had this problem its in another post somewhere in this section i believe. I think what he foudn out is that for some reason when the numbers where transfered to the new phoen from the old it did somethign screwy. all he could do was delete and reenter the number and it functioned properly

as for the mysterious ringer i don;t think it was ever determined where it came from or why

That is correct.. if you'd looked you'd find that this problem has been discussed before. It assigns a special default ringer to all the numbers transferred from one phone to another. Unfortunately for you, you have to delete and re-enter all the entries that got transferred from your old phone. Theres no easy way to fix this problem.

Which in retrospect makes me happy that I bought this phone before they came out with the apparently bugged transfer software.
