M55 battery good for 6 months only???

Hey guys check page 63 on ur user's manual under "Battery Quality Statement" (thanks kenken325 for pointing this out)

it states: "The capacity of your mobile phone battery will reduce each time it is charged/emptied. Storage at too high or low temp. will also result in gradual capacity loss. As a result operating time of your mobile phone may be considerably reduced, even after full recharge of the battery.
Regardless of this the battery has been designed and manufactured so that it can be recharged and used for six months after the purchase of your mobile phone. After six months, if the battery is clearly suffering from loss of performance, we recommend that you replace it.

What?! so is this true? Can someone who has an m55 for more than 6 months confirm this???

I think this is just an overly cautious statement or disclaimer if...

In any case I've always been told by reps and techs that I'd be lucky if my cell phone battery (no matter what brand) still holds a decent charge after a year..

So far battery life on my M55 is pretty pathetic, 2 days max with not too much talktime. Other than that I love the phone. I'm considering the Nokia 7210 as an alternative but I'll give it another week before I make up my mind.

One thing that I really have to commend Nokia for is their battery life...most of their phones have great battery life.

As for the M55, I seem to be getting about 2.5-3 days now with the phone on standby for most of that time, around 2 hours total talk time and the odd game here and there...it's definitely better than it was the first couple of days...

Yeah, I was checking out that website also. Some people claim to get a lot of talktime/standby out of theirs but they have their illumination at like 20-30% only

mine sucks the juice

but with lights on, animate gif as background, brigtness at 100%, what can you expect?

it's all worth it though... i still get a full day even with 150 mins + talk time

I have the lights off, no animated background & the brightness at 20% & I get 2 days maybe even 3 days out of the battery.
Did I mention, not too much talktime either??

What can we do, we have to learn to live with it

or charge our phones at night (c'mon... we're not out 24 hours are we?....)

i also bought a car charger (oem) just in case i get chatty on a long drive.

i don't know why siemens lists the m55

Battery
Standard battery Li-Ion 700 mAh
Stand-by time Up to 250 hours
Talk time Up to 300 minutes

and then the m56

Standby time up to 200 hours*
Talk time up to 180 min*
Standby battery Li-Ion 700 mAh

since both these phones will spend most of theri time operating in the 1900 band anyways.....

i think the m56 times ar emore realistic..... maybe a bit of dreaming for the m55
