(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: vincentchong

This is Innostream inno 90, it is triband GSM900/1800/1900, made in Korea.

It has 64 poly melody ring, 65K color external display, and built in 30k pixel high quality CCM type digital camera

The internal display is 262K color TFT display.

Posted by: n3985

Hi, where did you buy this? I e-mailed Innostream and was only given two phone numbers to call, one in Chicago and one in LA.

Posted by: vincentchong

please visit www.worldexonline.com

Posted by: n3985

O OK, I was actually planning to by from them, but didn't know they were reliable or not. How was your experience? And thanks for the input.

Does anyone have a proper review of this phone?? Like.. someone who actually has the phone, or from a review site.. i've tried searching everywhere, but i can't find any...//

Also.. when they say this phone can convert mp3s to ringtone format, does it mean wif the same sound quality, (which then the file size will be like 5MB) or.. just 64 poly quality??

And~ most importantly... anyone know if this phone can be bought offline in Korea?? tried e-mailing innostream, but everyone seems 2 be on holiday.. ;;;
where do they actually make the phones?? i know t's a korean company and all..... -_-;; I want the phone!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: iliksprite

I just got the phone while in hong kong and i can try and help with any questions. Dont havve a data cable or wap service yet so cant help you with your ringtone question. sorry

Posted by: dkny_boi

Hi i just had one quick question.. does the phone have an english menu? I asked someone who had it an they didn't even know coz they only used the chinese language for the menus. If you had a camera could you take pics of the menu system to show how it looks like at all? Thanks

Posted by: whiteternity

Me too, me too.. i was wonderin that too.. there was someone else on this forum who said the phone was all in chinese.. i can't read chinese.. -_-;;; (despite 3 years of hellish classes..;; but.. not the point..;;;;;;;

How's the camera on the phone?? can u post some pics that uve taken wif ur phone?? (sorry 2 bother u and all.. ^^)

And also.. can u tell me the maximum file size that u can transfer to the phone by data cable?? it'll be in the user manual.. wouldn't it??

I really want the phone~ but innostream's not replyin.. darn..

Posted by: p0lar!ze

About the ringtones, is it 64 DIFFERENT ringtones, or ringtones with 64 TONES?

Posted by: whiteternity

64 CHORD melody.. not 64 DIFFERENT ringtones... -_-;;;

Posted by: vincentchong

This phone has an English menu system for the screen but no menu booklet for explanations of functions in English. The Innostream might have the English menu booklet for people to download later.

This phone has internal 3MB memory.

This phone has 64 Chord Polyphonic Ring Tones to support the MP3 format.

It also has optional data cable and software CD, but these are not available yet. For these reasons, photos samples could not be produced yet.

This phone has 64 poly quality. As far as I know , this phone is only available in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau.

Thank you.

Posted by: whiteternity

huh.. that sux.. -_-;;;

the only reason i wanted this phone was because of its design, and support of mp3.. -_-;;; wot's the point of havin that, if there aren't any ways of getting the data into the phone?? i hear it has no irda or bluetooth either...;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

Posted by: iliksprite

acctually thr phone is supposed to come witht eh data cable. Just that the earlyu luanch didnt include it so that they could get it out by christmas. There should be a coupon or the data cable itself whrn you buy it now.
i unfortunately bought an early one and didnt notice the coupon which was iin chinese. :P and now dont have a cable poo o well. Its a pretty good phone i like it.

Posted by: cy88

When using a cable to put mp3 into the phone, it's basically converting it into MMF and then send it to the phone

Posted by: jhongs

Just got my inno 80 yesterday, and it seems like i can only use one of the image and sound file at a time (ie: cannot assign the images, sound uploaded to different individuals) which kind of suck.
The audio file uploaded (mp3 converted to mmf) is also not as loud as the original ones.
Overall, a very nice phone, but not as customizable as the T610

Posted by: whiteternity

AHHH~~~ HELP!!!!!!! My family's gone to Peking on holiday, and I heard this phone was only avail in China~ Is this phone avail in Peking????? If so..... can u get it in like any mobile store??? Anyone???????? PLEASE REPLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi guys.

Innostream Inno90 is for sale in Thailand also, importer is i-mobileshop.com, you'll see it on the homepage under New Releases, or clicking on Products - and phones. Price is 12.500 baht (about 49 baht to 1 euro)

I've done some playing with it so far, so I can answer a few things that came up...

The phone can associate image taken by built in camera with a person in phonebook and show it when that person calls. However only screen size (lowest resolution) images can show on outside screen, and it shows a small thumbnail also on internal screen.
MP3 does get converted when sent to the phone via cable, and the volume is slightly lower than what's in the phone by default (please note this was a Thai version with Thai content - different ringtones than Korean version).
The making of the phone is solid, and gray/silver works quite nice, although by my taste Sanyo, Panasonic and Samsung know a lot more about design than Innostream.
The screen itself is awesome, especially when playing preloaded movie trailers. It's like watching a small TV.
Keys are fairly well laid though not looking very sexy, but typing on them is feeling good, as they're very soft and distinct.
I am missing the standard (small jack) for handsfree, which isn't included. Apart from connector at the bottom for data cable there isn't any.
There are 2 soft keys at the side which I didn't think of what to assign them to do yet, but they seem to work :P
Messages can be emailed or MMS-ed out, both done the same way, just choose which you want.
This phone could also display Thai but not type it - no thai letters printed on the keys... wouldn't bother you guys, I assume :P
Last but not least, the battery. If you're playing with the camera (which can also take video up to 15 seconds in MJPEG format) then you're likely to burn the battery in 3-4 hours. Talk time on 1800 MHz network was about 5-6 hours (short of 7 hours stated, and would be even shorter on 900 MHz), while standby on 1800 MHz was roughly 3 and a half days at 5/5 signal.

The phone has 4 colored themes, 4 games, biorhythm, and a scheduler (calendar, then you can store events under each day, and it will show you the agenda for the day, week or month. Neat.

In standby you can use any photo, preloaded, your own or any frame of the videoclip as wallpaper. You can also turn on or off the operator name.

Some MMS, wallpapers and screensavers are already available for this phone, but no bags, spare batteries, chargers, etc. yet. Seems to be incredibly popular though as basically all shops are out of stock constantly. Waiting time is about 2 weeks.

There are a few sites where (unfortunately in Thai) you can at least catch the english words and see some photos, and I'll list them here.

If there's anything more you'd like to know, ask tomazbodner@yahoo.com

http://dob.tnc.edu.tw/authorHD/3476/rmtomp3.zip

use the software (download from above link) to make the mp3 louder and convert to a new loud version of mp3. The make it to mmf and transfer to phone. It sound as loud as the preloaded ringtone inside the phone. I try it by myself...it really work.
But make sure dont make it too loud untill you can hear your phone speaker cracking sound.

If anyone know read chinese then can go to this HK forum, they are crazy abt this phone. A lot info there.

How can you transfer the photos taken with thw camera to your pc?
Where can i buy the cable to do that?

Posted by: SidekickChuck

I havent been able to find a data cable or english instructions anywhere. I just picked mine up for $200 out the door from a local retailer who got 2 from Hong Kong. They made it work on the T-Mobile/Cingular network. Phone works great! Looks great, sounds great...but I jsut wish I could get data to the phone itself. And I wished that it had a expansion slot for more memory.

Posted by: frankie

when you preview the ringtone does the led that surrounds the external screen blinking like samsung phones?

Posted by: SidekickChuck

No, the changing color led that surrounds the secondary screen only lights up when you close the phone or when recieving calls or messages. Not during the preview.

You can transfer the pics taken with the camera using email/mms or transfer them thru the data cable.
Check on ebay for the data cables, there are a few on ebay.com that just sprouted up, but you'll find cheaper on taiwan ebay site (that's where i got mine from).

Also... inno9x... is there any way you can email me that program or rehost it somewhere? I've been trying to download it from that link for the past week and haven't had any luck

Posted by: hawk1500

wow, I am sooooo tempted to buy one.

It's only $317 shipped.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...&category=41345

Edit:
Wow, you got it for $200?! Does he have anymore?! =)

And does it have some sort of a LED that blinks when you have a signal (kind of like the T68)? And what can the outside screen show in standby? Can it show signal/battery? Thanks.

Posted by: dkny_boi

It doesn't have a "status led"... the light ring on the front on lights up when you first close the phone and when you receive calls/msgs.
Outter display's background image can be modified, and will display signal, time/date, and battery level in standby (and also other info like sms/mms icons, alarm clock icon...)

Posted by: hawk1500

thanks dkny_boi, would you mind a couple more questions?

Reception...how is it? Can it ring and vibrate at the same time (yeah I know, I am anal)?

Thanks again.

Posted by: dkny_boi

Hehe, it's cool, everyone's picky about something in their phones

Anyways... reception is great, it's so far a bit better than my z600 in this one building i use to compare my phones (z600 gets ~1 bar, this one has ~2 bars, can still make receive calls too... a nokia 5100 i used there had no reception, nor did a T610)

And yes, it does ring/vibrate at the same time... it has a very short vibrate at first, then it starts to ring while still vibrating too. (the intial vibe is short enuf that i can't see how it'd bother anyone... it's definately not the initial vibe that moto's do... the really long ones... this one's like 1 second or so only)

Posted by: hawk1500

great, thanks, I think I am going to take the plunge (even though it doesn't have 850). =)

Posted by: SidekickChuck

As far as reception quality is concerned, it all depends on how tmobile is in your area. I am pretty disappointed with my service because tmobiles service here is very poor. But other than that..its a great phone.

Posted by: hawk1500

yeah, I know that, that's why it was good he gave me comparisons among phones. =) But I don't have T-Mobile, so I don't know...may not be a good idea to get this phone (I think I am going to get it just for the hell of it anyway though).

Do you know the Innostream 90 Tmobile Tzone setting? Bought the phone but don't know the setting. Pls help?

Posted by: SidekickChuck

This phone doesnt work with the t-zone stuff but you dont even need to pay for tzones to get wap sites. Dont bother with their service...just go to a wap site and it should work.

ie. wap.yahoo.com

Posted by: fnu149

I am sorry, I am totally new to this.

What do you mean I get go to wap site?

Won't my Tmobile service won't allow me to connect?

What I mean is that if I don't pay tmobile the tzone service, then how can I be connected with the internet?

Please forgive my ignorance.

Thanks

Posted by: SidekickChuck

Just click the wap button and click yes to connecting to the internet. Then select "go to address" and type in wap.yahoo.com

Should work without having to pay for tzone service.

my experience with this phone is great. playing with the phone (my friend's) was fun. the screen quality is awesome, very clear. and the videos on his phone are superb, he got this babyvox (a korean pop group) edition of the phone and whenyou power it on and off it plays a clip of a music video. it also got five 30 second song clips of babyvox songs that sound excellent. i'm seriously thinking of buying his phone if he sells it, if it aint too much. just wanna through in my .02

are they all loaded with babyvox or only certain ones? how can u tell which ones are babyvox edition?

Posted by: iliksprite

just to let you know even if you dont sign up for tzones you will still have to pay if you use it. In fact they will charge by the mb downloaded to your phone it is about 5-10 per mb not to sure on teh price. Unlimited access is 5 a month though. dont think its free or they will burn you good....

my friend has this connection with whomevers... although he did pay almost full price for a regular edition inno 90. his box even has pics of babyvox on it!! the pics, videos, and ringtones really make this a great phone.

Posted by: fnu149

Anyhow, the phone should work with Tzone right, since it is a GSM Triband phone. Does anyone here knows the Tzone setting?

I was doing the wap.yahoo.com

but it didn't work

Thanks

Posted by: dkny_boi

Check on t-mobile's website, they list the settings on there.
Wap service w/ t-mobile will work, but from what others have experienced, the actual T-zones homepage won't work, it just shows up blank... but you can still goto other wap sites.

My Inno90 just arrived fresh from ebay...I read this forum when choosing it, so I figured I should show my gratitude and contribute...

This is my first experince with an overseas phone, and so far I like what I see. Even though its only been a couple of hours, this phone has already won my praise for its design and many thouroghly thought out features.

For instance, to save battery life, the screens turn off when not in use. Press any key, and its back on. The result? Slimmer (and suprisingly light) phone

The speakerphone qulity is crisp, and the hands-free set is just out of this world (comes with a string and a magnetic holder). I've seen a few of these on the necks of my Chinese friends, but i had no idea they were this cool.

The pre-loaded ringtone selection is very descent, although quality is dissapointing (or maybe my expectations are too high?). My bro has V400, so I'll compare when we meet next time.

The converter is my dream come true, with everything from temperature to area to pressure at ur fingertips. Timer (both sports and countdown) and melody composer are also neat. The calculator is perfect for engineers like me cause it comes with powers of 10 built-in. The only one missing is a currency converter.

I'll post updates on signal strength, GPRS, mp3s and many other features as I play with this thing.

If any1 has an English manual, dont hesitate to let me know how to listen to GPRS (the seller sent me 2 spanish manuals, so I cant figure it out yet )

Posted by: braindead5400

The manual is availble at www.innostream.com or I could email it to you. PM me with your address

Posted by: hawk1500

Yeah, this phone does the 3 things that I am illogically anal about:

Flip phone with outside caller-id. I can't believe some phones don't have this!

Ability to ring and vibrate at the same time (stupid Motorolas).

Dialing a number in your phonebook manually, but without the area code, still shows as the same number.

Yeah, I know, picky ******* right? =) If this phone had 850, and maybe IR and/or bluetooth (just any way to transfer data besides the stupid serial cable), it would be pretty much perfect!

Whats the setting option to have it vibrate and ring at the same time?

Posted by: chronic2k3

Go in sound settings, then profiles, select the profile you want and edit it. The first option to edit is ring type from there you can choose Melody, light, Vibrator or Melody and Vibrator hope this helps

Posted by: tomazz

Just a few quick ones...

Inno makes the phones by order of the distributors which can modify them. Mine for example came from iMobile and sports VDO written in place of GPRS and i-Mobile logo instead of Innostream.
The phone didn't have any Korean content, but had a pretty cool (though you get bored with it) mobile flash intro, 5 or 6 international songs (most likely converted from MP3) - namely "Can't take my eyes off you" (default set), "I will survive", "Mandy", "Me against the music", "Someday", and (could be) Korean "I wish". The rest are polyphonic ringtones, 52 or 53 of them.
They also added a few preloaded images and named them i-mobile1,2,3... they're so so, not as neat as the Tulip that's installed by Innostream.
They were also nice enough to preconfigure 2 mobile operators that support GPRS - AIS and DTAC, however there are several profiles for each, for MMS, WAP, and no mentioning in the manual which to use for what. So it's a bit of hit and miss to get it working. Unfortunately I can't get SMTP address of mine (DTAC) and it wasn't preset so all except EMAIL works now. Stupid thing though - when I send MMS, even if the person receiving has an MMS capable phone, he gets an SMS with a link to website to see the MMS.... well I guess that's safer for them but they could make an MMS registration page where MMS phone users could let them know they can receive it?
Cables that many of you are asking for are for sale in Malaysia for roughly 30 US dollars. Contact someone who lives there, I don't :P Unfortunately they are not yet available here as are not any other accessories. But I'll let you know when they are and what the prices are like. Inno is a popular model, demand is in fact so high it's impossible to buy it at advertised price (12500 baht or roughly 300 US$) so I am certain that they'll be available soon.

Now to bad parts. All of you praise Inno's screen. I must admit that it's not bad but it's nowhere near the WHOA! quality. In fact it's not any better than 65k screen on Samsung E700 and E715. Had a chance to check with both. Or let me better say it that way - visibly there's no difference, as Samsung knows how to set graphic elements to display at their best a lot better than Inno. So external screen that was supposed to be 65k is a pixelate joke. Looks more like 256 color screen than 65k. Still, having photo caller ID on external screen was my main point to buy it. Despite being only photos of the smallest size that you can use as photo caller ID, that's still OK.

Now what is NOT OK about it are the following things:

Camera quality in preview mode is fine (considering it is measuring light through the lens and has no separate sensor) but when you take a shot, JPEG compressor basically eats the photo - the JPG compression is actually so high that it totally blurs and distorts the image. The lower the resolution, the more obvious it gets. So the external screen size photos are in fact so bad you can barely recognize who's on the photo, while in preview (seeing "video" through the lens before taking it) it's actually very nice. One thing to mention though is that at selfshots, at least on my phone, camera is always set to 640x480 and gets this pattern all over the screen. It's like if photo was on a tiled surface... making it more or less useless. It also can't swap the screen, say if you opened the phone, called the camera application, then wanted a selfshot... need to close the phone and press bottom side button for 2 seconds...
Video feature is cool, although 20 seconds is not really much and not having sound with it makes it even less useful. Again, they didn't have to put compression on it to the max....
Just did a few tests, photos with lots of detail at VGA resolution are between 16!!!k and 38k. Screen size photos are 3-4k. External screen size photos 1k. moving on...
The keys are... how do I say this... several problems. First, they are very unevenly backlit. I bought 2 of them and both suffered the same problems. Blue and red are sort of OK, but violet backlight is uneven, on some sports bluish, some parts reddish, pink, or none... top soft buttons are one blue and the other pink. Erm...
OK, that's not the annoying part. Real annoying part is how (ir)responsive the keys are. It's OK for typing the number, but when you're typing SMS, at the speed I do, the characters are following my typing a second or even more later. It's like the good old days when we tried to run Windows 95 on an old 486 that could barely load it let alone work with it, and when typing something, it was sort of trying to follow.... well here it gets worse, as if you type in multitap, and you wanted to say write SUCK, you'd have to press 7 four times... if you pressed it quickly, then pressed 8 for a U, 10 out fo 10 tries I'll get written PUAJ or RTAK...
Unfortunately both phones suffered from the same syndrome, so I think problem could be general (or if I was really having so bad luck that I bought 2 phones on different days from 2 different shops and got 2 faulty phones, please someone let me know).
To the box... It's fair quality made, not very solid, especially the 2 metallic covers in the fold (that 2 wheels at the side) are moving, also there is no click to close the phone, but closes very softly. Not sure how long that will last, but it does have 2 plastic bits on the top that prevent opening it too far, which should be good.
Using the mirrors around the screens is also a very nice touch from COOL factor, and using holograms for the names on the mirror is not an overkill (they didn't do what Microsoft did on their Windows and Office CDs), making you wonder why noone else thought of that.

So all in all, keyboard and camera are a bit disappointing, nothing hardware but rather software based. Inno would also do itself a favour if it allowed users to select compression rate in camera settings, and add a java based or whatever image editor (resize, crop, rotate...) into the phone (or as a later download).

Last but not least, they would really do themselves a favour if they optimized the menus and text input or beef up the CPU speed inside the phone to handle what's in it now.

All in all a very nice phone that I'm sure you will like except for that few glitches that start to get more and more annoying as time goes by.

Then again, I could have just bought a Sharp GX-2x then.

Posted by: braindead5400

just to correct one of my previous posts, the inno 90 does not support java, it has wge based games. The inno website is wrong

Posted by: tw_1_n_star

how's battery time of this fone?... can it take like up to 20 shots and still have a lot of battery remaining? cuz for some fones.. even when fully charged, after 20 camera shots.. 1 bar goes down automatically =/

Posted by: Renske

Hi,
I've the inno 90 for a couple of weeks now and I'm reasonably positive about it. I love the way it looks, the menu is really simple and easy to use and it can do everything you want.
BUT: the keys irritate me to the max, their response is so slow when you're typing an sms. The standby time is not very long and the camera is ok, but not really outstanding. I've had a nokia 6610 before this and typing sms and it's standby time was heavenly compaired to this.
I was wondering if anyone knows one/some wapsites where I can download some backgrounds, screensavers and ringtones. Especially ringtones, because the standard ones sound excellent, but they're really stupid! I mean: who wants a crying baby as ringtone? I have some dutch adresses, but they are not readable or something like that.
I know there is a datacable, but I think it's quite expensive for the few things I'm planning on doing, so I would like to know first if there are other possibilities. So please let me know!

you can use wap. And about battery life, my phone will drop low pretty quickly if I use it alot but it will stay low for a LONG time, I talked about an hour today with the battery meter about 1/4 of the meter when the call was started

Posted by: i|oveSe|iNa

btw is there any website to download the stuff for this phone??
cox i'm looking forward of downloading ringtones or video for it

Posted by: Trenton_net

Yes, but the websites which offer movies, pictures, MTVs, ect are all in Chinese. Since this phone is primarily asian, its to be expected. So it looks like your out of luck unless you can read Chinese like others here.

Posted by: tw_1_n_star

do ALL inno 90's have chinese input? btw how much is it in hk? cuz i'm thinking of getting it here.. but is it a lot cheaper in hk?

Posted by: i|oveSe|iNa

××××....
although i'm chinese but didnt study chinese ler...
too bad..
hardly to get that kind of stuff ler...
is there any other way if i manage to get a translator??

Posted by: Trenton_net

I doubt it. You can't just use a translater and expect to get anywhere with it. Most sites require you to register before you can even get into the content. Again, the Inno 90 which has Chinese built in is for the Chinese market. As such, its pointless for others to purchase an Inno 90, unless they know Chinese. Otherwise many of the features and media you can load on it won't be possible since there is no English source for them.

The only real excuse for people to get one is really if they want bragging rights or something. But thats pretty dumb. Aside from the extra content and Chinese software it can run (Which you wouldn't use anyways), its really just a camera phone. But there are much better camera phones on the market.

Posted by: tw_1_n_star

so basically either u got an inno 90 that can support ONLY english or ONLY chinese?

Otherwise many of the features and media you can load on it won't be possible since there is no English source for them.

The only real excuse for people to get one is really if they want bragging rights or something. But thats pretty dumb. Aside from the extra content and Chinese software it can run (Which you wouldn't use anyways), its really just a camera phone. But there are much better camera phones on the market.
everything is not about ringtones and wallpaper you know, plus you can add your own wallpapers and ringtones with the data cable. As far as videos, the phone only has 3mb of memory so don't expect it to hold many. I don't think the phone shouldn't be purchased if you don't speak chinese, I don't understand your point.

I would say aside from the Camera, Wallpapers and static pictures are fine and great. But its not that you miss out on wallpapers (Since odviously you can just upload them). What you really miss out on is being able to run applications. Since the Inno was made for asia, it runs all the asian and Chinese file formats (Like VIS). That makes it hard to impossible to find any content from North America as most phones here use the JAVA Format. So really, you'd loose a lot of functionality on just that alone.

But in regards the formats the Inno can run, Games, music, videos, and applications arn't that large. VIS program files are actually quite small, yet they yeald very good quality.

While they don't allow attachments of great size, a friend has posted a mini video of a Cut-Scene from a VIS program. I assume its a game. While the frame rate, video quality, and length were shot to hell to compress it into such a small file, it gives you an idea the kind of quality you can get. On a real phone, the cartoons, applications, and games are awsome!

Note: To download you need to visit the base URL:

www.geocities.com/cecilia_chen0110/

Then you can cut and paste this link and the Anti-Leech won't prevent you from downloading it.

www.geocities.com/cecilia_chen0110/Chinese.zip

Needless to say, on a real Inno, the cut-scene of that program would look really smooth and sharper looking compared to that compressed junk.

Hi,
I found a site where you can download really nice backgrounds through wap. First you have to go to the internetsite www.gsmskins.nl, there you can find the numbers you have to fill out on the wap site (wap.gsmskins.nl). The pictures will have sort of the right size if you fill out number 65 (nokia n-gage). You can choose from about 1800 different pictures and most of them are really nice. All you have to do is write down the numbers of the pictures you want and go to the wap site. Then first fill out "65" and then "number of selected picture" and you'll see! Good luck!

Posted by: Trenton_net

Gonk, is that phone English or Chinese? I've heard that there are more firmware issues with the English model.

Posted by: i|oveSe|iNa

can any1 post any sites or any links to download stuff for inno 90??
any wap site also can...

Posted by: ataq

imo its better to get the data cable, for around $40 you can transfer any pic you want and even upload mp3 clips, about 20-25 seconds worth, to your inno.

Posted by: rock_bottom

the data cable is definitely worth it.....
but if you want some sites to d/l stuff, there is a post in the "others" forum talking about wap.sonyericsson.com.

since you can't upload gif files with the data cable, you can d/l here.

Posted by: braindead5400

what is the best phone to choose on gsmskins.nl to substitue the inno 90?

Does anybody know if you can remove the plastic from the outer screen of the inno 90? There is a lot of dust in my screen and I hope I can remove it somehow,
thanks

Posted by: braindead5400

remove the 4 rubber stoppers on the inside of the flip. Use a credit card to slightly part the housing and use a can of compressed air to blow the dust out. Or you can try and remove the entire thing and wipe it clean

errr wut do u mean by a can of compressed air?

Posted by: DaninChina

Compressed air is just that:

Air in a can.

It looks like a can of spray paint, but it is lighter.

It's useful for cleaning delicate devices and places that are hard to reach (like the spaces between keys on a computer keyboard, for example).

Posted by: ~W~

goto like bestbuy's computer section, and ask for it

So, I just got my 90 and I think innostream has updated their models in updating their firmware and support b/c my box is definately made for N America. - it comes with a manual fully in English and a seperate manual for Spanish. So hopefully, it won't have any lag issues or problems people mentioned when the bought it a while back... By the way- I got my phone from the dealer in Chicago and he was great- talked to me for about 10 minutes about my questions and i ordered it LATE thurday night and he still got it to me today - so basically Fri and Mon business days.

Thanks Braindead5400 for your advice about getting the dust out of my inno. I didn't know there were screws under those plastics (women!), after I got the right screwdriver everything went ok. I had a bit of difficulty removing the outer plastics and I almost damaged the camera. The compressed air didn't work very well, so I just used a cloth to clean the screen and that went fine.
I ordered a data cable yesterday, so I'll be able to download my own ringtones this week. Not a moment to soon because the standard ringtones are just plain AWFUL!
greetings Renske

The English phones are simply the old model phones with the Chinese ripped out. This may or may not have broken compatability or stability further. The new Chinese phones should have a more stable OS as they are updated frequently.

KULaw....

I was wondering where in Chicago did you get your InnoStream. I live in Chicago but haven't been able to find it. Saw this phone in NYC, but reluctant to get a NY area code. Thanks...

Also...anyone else know where to get a good deal in Chicago on cell phones like Chinatown in NYC?

I saw one at this wireless store in hyde park, it was one of those stores that sell a bunch of different carriers but he said he only had one of them and that he didn't regularly sell them

Posted by: KULaw

Hey,

The guy i bought it from is located in chicago - but I live in Lawrence,

He sells on ebay and has a website - welectronics.com
and sells alot of phones and imported stuff

I talked to him before getting the phone and was really great about answering all my questions and he got the phone to me in 2 days after ordering it.

All and all, the phone is cool, great service by him - but to be honest is not as well laid out as my Sanyo 5500 videophone

If you don't have sprint you can't get that one, and I would still recommend this phone b/c it comes with a lot of good options and the sound and clarity are pretty ×××× good - only screen i've seen that looks better is sprints new toshiba videophone that is like a liquid crystal display its quite sweet

enjoy-

I just purchased an inno 90 and I think its awsome. I'm getting the data cable soon, but I was curious as to how I go about making a mp3 ring tone for this phone. Do I need a special program to shorten the mp3 file? Or should the data cable come with a program?

I downloaded the program someone posted a earlier called StreamBoxRipper2009. The readme file doesnt say much on how to use the program and which format to save the ringtone for the phone. Someone please help me. Thanks

The data cable comes with the PC Sync software which helps you convert MP3 and wave files to mmf files. You have to crop it under 200k here and sometimes you can't get it the exact spot you want it to stop. I suggest downloading another program that can crop and edit MP3/wave files before converting it on the PC Sync software.

Posted by: tinex

Thanks, nice to know. Also, how many mp3 ringtones can you upload? I also had a question for people that have had the Inno 90 for a while.

How long do your phones last before they die? I just fully charged the phone last night (bigger battery), so today is my first day actually using the phone. The phone is great, but the only thing is that now after 7-8 hours of battery and about 5 phone calls, its on what it looks like to be the last bar on the batt.

I have about 5 more days before I can return this phone for an exchange so I need to find out if I can live with this phone for a while.

Posted by: tinex

If anyone can suggest a phone for me in replacement of the Inno 90 I would appreciate it. And phones that I can actually acquire in California.

By fully charge do you mean you kept it plugged in until the bars were full? Or did you charge it for like 4-6 hours? For me I fully discharged and fully charged back (4-6 hours of charging) for first 5 times of use. Now I just charge every night. With light usage of camera and looking at time and maybe 1-2 calls, I have about 75% left on the thin battery. So it may be your battery or may be just that you need to use the battery a bit more for it to reach its fully potential.

As for the exchange, this is really up to you. If so far you're unsatisfied with phone in any aspects, then sure go ahead and get an exchange

The rep at the phone place I went to said to charge the phone for 10-14 hours for the first use of the battery. I charged about 12-13 hours on the large battery, and the small is being charged now. The only thing I'm unsatisfied with is that you have to flip the phone open to know anything, lol. Cant even tell the time or if I missed a call or text msg. If I keep this phone, I hope that aspect of this phone doesnt annoy me =). The phone I was maybe considering is the Motorolla v600, do you know anything about it? as far as useage, batt life, funtionality, things like that.

Well, I know for sure I want a flip phone, rich color screen display, camera, I like the ability to transfer mp3 songs for ring tones on this phone, but I need the data cable. I dont really care about being online, but haven't it is nice I suppose. Being able to see call and msg indicators w/o having to flip the phone would be nice. I also was curious about the Blue Tooth Technology, with it are you able to transfer data through infrared ports, or is it just for the wireless ear piece?

Well, you can check using the external LCD by holding down the up side button. This will light up the screen for a few seconds and you can see time and i think it should show missed calls and text messages as well.

As for the Motorola V600, I've been considering ditching my Inno 90 for that. I'm not too sure about this phone though but seems pretty nice. I've had a V400 for a while but never really used it but I can remember the screen was really nice and you won't be able to notice the pixels in the camera mode as you do on the Inno 90.

WOW, thank you for that. LOL. Thats how my verizon phone was too, but the rep at the store said that you had to flip the phone up to see the time. THATS AWSOME, lol.

My friend has the V600 he said the batt life on there is superb. And he has the blue tooth ear piece, so thats a nice accessory to have. He said the same thing as you about the pixels in the camera more and he said the Inno is more colorful and the sounds are better and clearer. What are the pros and cons of the Motorolla v600 over the Inno 90? I don't know much about cell phones, sorry.

Want to know another awesome thing? When you hold down the down side button when flip is closed, you'll go into camera mode and I think pushing up in camera mode takes picture while pushing down again exits the camera mode

As for the pros and cons. I'm not too sure because I've only used the Inno 90 but the V600 has bluetooth so it may be a pro for you if you use the headset a lot or already have a bluetooth dongle for your computer. Try asking the people in the Motorola Forums for the pros and cons of the V600 or try looking around for a review there

Posted by: braindead5400

basically the only thing the v600 has going for it is bluetooth, a nice screen and actual mp3 tones (though not as loud as innos).

What do you mean by actual? They aren't mmf files? Does the v600 mp3 ring tones sound as clear as Inno 90's?

Also about Blue Tooth technology, can you use it for wireless data transfer, or is it only useful for the wireless ear piece?

tw_1_n_star,

Thanks for those links!
That feature with using the camera while still closed is cool. Maybe I will get a v600 later on. I don't even plan on using an ear piece anyways. Can you transfer data with Blue Tooth technology via infrared? I think I might just stick with the Inno 90 for now. I have another question for you though, when you are calling someone, after about a minute do you hear a beep? Thats happening to me when I'm talking to someone, and around each minute I will hear a short beep. How can I get rid of this? I thought it was a dead batt, I just took it off the charger, made a call, and it still occurs. The beeping is the only thing that is bothering me about this phone.

Well, people said that trying to bluetooth jack other people was almost impossible, so I'm guessing they mean it's very difficult to connect to other phones via bluetooth. Maybe they meant with phones like the T616 or even maybe just V600 to V600.

As for the beep, go to:
Menu -> Phone Setting -> Sound Setting -> Minute Tone -> Off

Awsome, thanks. That's strange that they would have that on as default. Seems like I pretty much like this phone. I'm wondering why I cannot go onto certain webpages. I tried to log onto hotmail to see if i can check my email and it said my Java was disabled or something? Is there a way I can turn this on, or is there a way I can upload the program to my phone? Same thing happend with AOL instant messanger.

Hmmm, you'll have to get an answer from someone else. I'm not a heavy user on wap so I'm not too sure about certain restrictions it might have or maybe your carrier.

I have T-Moble. Oh well, I already have a computer, as soon as I get the data cable I can upload whatever I want. Just curious about the internet. Do you know anyone that knows more about the online capabilities and wap on this phone?
