CDMA-8900: So, you want to be able to use your downloaded ringtones eh?

There are tons of people asking about this, so I figured I'd let you know that it IS possible to use your downloaded ringtones (use them as your ringer type)

See, Audiovox doesn't want people to have this ability, they think their ringtones are sufficient enough, but on the other hand - they can't forbid it either...

These steps are assuming you have already downloaded you ringtone and it's sitting in the Media Gallery under Tones:

1.) Hit the MENU button, then go to Settings (#7)
2.) Go to Sounds (#1) then to Ringer Type (#1) then to Ringer (#1)
3.) You will notice that the name of this menu is called: Music Bells (If your menu is different, then PM me and I will help you one-on-one) and you will also notice that to the left and right of "Music Bells" there are little tiny arrows pointing left and right...
4.) To select a ringtone that you have downloaded, hit the right arrow button (the one with the envelope on it) until you get to, yes, that's right - DOWNLOADS!!
5.) Select the ringtone you want and whamo...all set.

The same thing apply's to wallpapers, and screen savers (in their respective MENU's of course)

So, did you find this helpful? Feedback is appreciated!!

The cable you want to look for is the: DICU-8400B (I've been told it doesn't matter about the 'B') which is the same cable as the 8400 series phones. Unfortunately, the pins on the cable for the 8600 series are different...

BTW, good luck finding the cable right now... a few places have it but they want to charge an arm and a leg to get it. Audiovox says they wont have it for another month or so...if you find one at a decent price (Under $50 USD for just the cable) that actually has one in stock, please let me know...

Keep in mind that you can still use BREW in the meantime for your ringtones and graphics.

Cheers!
