P900 can't restore P800 backup?

Folks,

Is it know correct behavior that when I attempt to restore my last P800 backup to my P900 I get an error message to the effect of "this file is not recognized as a valid backup"? If so, how the hell do I get all my stuff off of my P800->P900 with only 1 SIM?
If this is abberant behavior, what should I do?

Yup... it is... But believe me you weren't the only one to think about doing it ....

You'll have to install all 3rd party software manually. Some software won't even take if it is IMEI dependent.

As for the phone book/calendar/task, you can sync your P900 with your PC, and that should move over your contacts, calendars and tasks.

EMAIL, SMS, MMS, Internet and WAP settings you can enter manually or use Sony Ericsson's automatic configuration utility.
The new sync software from sonyericsson specifically states that P900 backups can only be restored on P900s.
