Does anybody know what the 6-digit security code (MSL) for Kyocera Slider is? If it is provider-specific (which I assume it is) I'm looking for Bell Mobility.

Not only is it provider specific... it's ESN specific.
Some carriers like SaskTel/ MTS etc do not use lock codes, so it would be just 000000, Bell Mobility however does lock ALL their phones.
Your only way to get it is via the carrier, and they won't release it by just asking.
Good luck

A Bell World or Bell Mobility store can probably get you your lock code, but calling can't hurt, just ask.. you may be surprised.

yeah. the security code on (my) slider is 868666 ...i'm thinking this may just be VM's code though D really don't know though...

Well, I'll give calling a shot. Who knows, I had all sorts of interesting experience will Bell personnel, from extremely insightful knowledge and helpfulness to the worst customer service skills I've ever encountered outside a K-Mart.

868666 definitely does not work, nor does 000000 123456 654321 or anly other factory codes I've heard of. If anyone gets any info from Bell before I do, please let me know.

Where and how do you go about putting the lock code on a slider from Bell and benefits can you get from it?
Just wondering

Taken from a previous post I had made:
Do a hex dump (I do not know if you can do that in GAGIN) and browse to this file 'nvm_security', located at nvm/nvm. Look at the tenth row (row 09) , sixth bit over you see a 6 digit number. Try that number. The next 6 digit number after that is the debug screen code.
I am using BitPim .62 to look at the file system, I can not get BitPim 7test 11 to work correctly with this phone. If you need BitPim go to sourceforge.com and search for it

I currently work for VM, are codes are ××× follows;

Rave, SLider, Party Animal and Super MOdel

1-1-1-1-1-1, ok key, security code is 8-6-8-6-6-6, it will go to the service options menu, and go from there.

alternate codes for rave and slider,

#-#-8-4-7-4-4-6, ok key, do as you wish.

codes for vox 8500, and 8610,

#-#-8-4-7-4-4-6, then the red phone key

If anyone needs the browser setup codes just let me know. email me at Souparus99@aol.com

I've heard that the hex dump method works as well, but have not tried it either. I think that you need to use the file under nvm/nvm called nvm_0002. There should be 3 different codes in there, one of which should be the MSL.

you can also gank the code using the slider ESN changing software tool

You could also try taking it to a Verizon Store and see if they will put their firmware on the phone
