opera browser and email

hey
can anyone help me with the required setting to get the opera browser to work i have a working gprs account which works fine with the standard browser byt when i try to open a page in opera it connects then comes back with a msg something like
could not connect to remote server
???
what am i doin wromg i am in uk if this makes any difference?
also what are the necessary settings for email ive tried using the se support website with no luck, do i need to tell my operator i want to use email?
any help advice would be greatly appreciated!!!
