Hey guys and girls, I have been watching this forum for along time, mostly looking about all the threads about the P900. So thanks too you lot I got one! Now everything is fine, firmware updated and all but i'm having a problem with Opera. I have the lastest version but when i try to open a page all it says is connected and just stays like that for ages? Any ideas guys ? I'm using GPRS.

Many thanks
P.S I did search for the answer.

Hey
I had this problem the first day too, it's strange since the internal browser works fine. Are you using WAP GPRS or full blown Internet GPRS?

Here's what I did, and for whatever reason it worked. I just set a homepage for myself like www.yahoo.com or whatever, then as soon as I opened the Opera browser, I clicked WEB then HOME PAGE, and for whatever reason it worked fine, and whatever webpages I would open AFTER doing that opened fine. But whenever I would try to open a page directly after opening the opera browser, I would get the same thing you described, "connected" but nothing would happen.

Hope this helps.

think you need to enter a proxy server in internet accounts

this is an example for o2 uk users
dont know where you cud find your proxy settings try web search???

go to control panel
connections
internet accounts
select o2 wap gprs
edit
advanced
proxy tab
use proxy server
proxy server address- 193.113.200.195
proxy server port - 8080

now try opera?
also try opening a page eg. www.o2.co.uk and wen it connects click web home page then try and open the sites you want?
hope this helps?

Hey guys thanks for your replies but no luck. I've entered in the proxy stuuff with all the numbers but still just stays at connected. I'm using Vodafone live GPRS. As eurotrashboy said my built in browser was fine too. When i check the information about the connection it just says 0kb on both bits!!!

This sucks. I will keep trying even if i'm bed trying to sleep!

Any other help?
