a couple days ago I got a free nokia from my bf but he forgot his security code and of course i dont know it so I need a step by step step guide to resseting my phone (need every detail).

turn on ur phone...no matter it ask for what..... key in "*3001#12345#"
and u will see all the setting... and u can change the security code....

I tried your code and it only allow me to enter 5 characters that 's all! and I am not able to browse any menu... do you think it would require software flashing!! and where would I do that!
