GX 20 - Ir with other phones

Hi folks,
does anyone knows if gx20 may directly communicate with other phones to share any image?
For example, my wife has a Nokia 3200 with the IR port.
In her Phone's menu, you can choose to send a photo by the IR port.
So, I swithed on The Ir port on my sharp (not the Ir port for PC connection) and put it near the nokia tryiing to transfer the Photo.
I fall asleep after 15 minute...nothing happened.
May someone help me?

no, it only works with the software supplied and connects to a PC, cant even connect to other sharp mobiles

And why sharp added the possibility to open the IRC port from the menu (instead to open PC connection)?
